Breakfast was great

Very inconvenient to walk out of exterior entrances to walk down to lobby every time we wanted a drink or ice. We had a 1/2” gap in the bottom of our door to doorframe . Luckily, no snow or wind blowing in!

The“hot tub” was not hot at all and not even warm. Equipment at the gym was broken and the front desk staff did not appear to be aware as they don’t appear to be inspecting the gym equipment regularly, which is a safety problem. Also, if you stay here, I recommend you stay in the back of the building. I asked for a quiet room and I was put in a room on the fifth floor on the front of the building and heard road noise and people’s voices on the street below late into the night; however, it appears that if you get a room on the back of the building, it is significantly quieter.

Too expensive for Old hotel, terrible parking situation, good breakfast and good views from higher floors.

The condition of the room was disappointing. The toilet seat was peeling and in very poor condition, and there were visible stains on the bedsheets. Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations when staying at a hotel, so this was especially concerning. The parking situation was also frustrating. The hotel parking lot was essentially a construction zone, which left us having to park in another hotel’s lot across the street. Traveling with small children and having to walk back and forth from a different property was extremely inconvenient. This was not something we expected when booking our stay. For the price we paid, we expected a clean, comfortable room and convenient access to the property. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of those expectations. I have photos documenting the condition of the room as well.

Very good service from the staff, nice hotel, and the room was comfortable and clean, but there are limited parking spaces.

The location was good, as it was next to the bike path that you could take toward Monterey or Castroville. There was also a nature preserve that one could walk around. Smart &Final was a block away. Breakfast had a great selection. Rooms are too cramped, small refrigerator without a freezer section. Shower did not drain. Windows don’t open (too stuffy), lighting is weak. Construction was being done on the parking lot, which meant loud machinery starting at 7am! The hot tub was not warm enough. Too much money for the value!

I will not stay here again, not even if it was half of what I paid. Nor would I recommend it. Before walking into the room daily, we had to dodge swarms of flys just outside our door and the whole hallway. Then there was the stench of mold, especially strong in the closet. We had to get new bedding the first night because there was blood on the comforter. Disgusting and unsanitary. On top of that, the shower leaked when in use and nearly flooded half the small room that got our luggage and belongings wet that were placed on the floor. Needless to say we spent time cleaning and drying it off. I regret paying over $1100 for 2 nights. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME AND HEALTH.

Rooms were facing the highway, did not feel safe, it was noisy, hotel was old. Person that checked us in was denying is our room because we didn’t have the $75 incidental fee due to a banking issue. We already prepaid for the room.

Great location and breakfast in the morning!

Disappointing

I didn't pay attention to the description and realize that this property is a motel. The property is updated, but not exactly what I expect of a Holiday Inn Express. The room was clean and the view was lovely. The breakfast was fresh and exactly what you expect from Holiday Inn Express. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
