Economy Inn Monterey

After checking into the room we checked the bed, there was a cigarette burn on the sheets, the pillows had visible stains(not sure if it was blood stains or mold), the walls above the bed had hand print marks as if the last tenants were having sex on the bed( we are unsure if it was properly cleaned), there was graffiti on the door, the lock was damaged, the walls are stains, the furniture was broken, mirror in the bathroom had stains from the last guest, the ground had visible dirt, the shower head had visible scum on it. We didn’t even feel comfortable sitting on the bed! We spoke with management, they offered a new pillow or a new room for the next day (meaning we had to stay in that room for the night)!! Then he lied about our possible options after that! We highly recommend spending more money elsewhere!

There has to be numerous health and safety violations, city inspectors should shut this place down. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Room reked of cigarettes. Visually dirty towels in the room. Top of counter was extremely unstable. Drawers were falling apart. Privacy lock on door was broken off. Door had 666 and cross drawn on the back.

ALL THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS SAID IT ALL. BUT I WILL SAY THIS ROOM 211 REMINDS ME OF THE MOVIE, COMING TO AMERICA WHEN EDDIE MURPHY ASKING HE WANTS TO RENT THE WORST ROOM. MY ADVICE DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN IF IT'S THE LAST VACANT HOTEL.

It was the only place available. Although not surprising. It was really bad. They exploited the lack of availabilities elsewhere to hype up the price. There was a cockroach in the bed. It hadn't been cleaned after the previous 'guest'. We didn't feel safe.

Not 24 hr. I arrived at 2 am and rang the bell, banged on the door and owner was asleep so I slept in my car. Ship your own sheets and towels from amazon ahead

Absolutely nothing. Regulators should shut this place down. Filthy doesn’t do it justice. Every wall, floor, section was incredibly dirty. Hair found in bed sheets. Bed sheets not clean. Hair found in bathroom. Disconnected smoke detector.

Customer service

The staff were disrespectful hanging up the phone while I'm asking them questions about my refund. They didn't even refund my $71 back and it wasn't even the day of my stay yet

Staff did not know proper English and was really slow. No instruction on the room. Room was not clean and there was no hot water, even after letting the water run for over 5 minutes. There were some homeless people sleeping in a car in the parking lot. The bed was not comfortable and almost broken. Sheets were burned. Bathroom door broken.

Sheets were stained and had cigarette burns. Room was very dirty. Marijuana smoke from nest door homeless shelter wreaked into the room.
