I didnt get the deluxe king room i paid for.

Nice room design First of all, a very rude staff. Parking Valet gave us a wrong information about street parking and we ended up with 2 parking tickets (his comment after was “I didn’t know it’s wrong ma’am, everyone parks here”). The receptionist was extremely disrespectful and even raised his voice at me. I never saw this kind of behavior in hotel before . And just a few additional details: no hot water in the room (just warm), low water pressure, towels were missing and the coffee machine didn’t work. But I would never lose my time writing a comment about it, if it weren’t for what happened with the staff. In one word, atrocious

Make sure you are not in the rooms front from the restaurant across the street on a weekend, you can hear drunk people until 2AM.

Elegant, welcoming hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. Located within walking distance of restaurants and Capitol Building.

I wish the terrace was more private. Each room on my side shared the same terrace. I also wish my room was alot bigger due to what we paid for the room.

Great location

Nestled in an historic area of Richmond among hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Walking distance from the Main St Amtrak station. Close to downtown and the Capitol Building. Very clean, well preserved, and updated lobby, restaurant and rooms. I like this place.

This hotel was very nice. Rooms were nicely decorated and well appointed. The barroom was great, shower was roomy. A great place to stay in downtown Richmond.

Location was nice and the room was very nicely decorated. Several restaurant options with in walking distance. Only issue we had was the street noise of loud vehicles.

Exceptional

Our second time at the Berkeley, and we’ll definitely back. My only complaint is that, like last time, my friend arrived a little bit before I did. Last time, the front desk person allowed her to go ahead and check in to the room. But this time, a different front desk person wouldn’t allow it unless she paid for the room herself, so she had to sit in the lobby for almost an hour until I got there. I understand that there are rules and policies in place for a reason, but I also know that exceptions can be made. Unfortunately, the front desk person was completely unwilling to work with us, which was disappointing. As I said, we’ll be back. But a little bit of flexibility in that situation would have been nice.
