Homewood Suites by Hilton Richmond - Downtown

The room was clean and very comfortable. The front desk person was a nightmare. He couldn't find my reservation, tried to charge me again even though I had a receipt showing it was already paid in full. Fifteen minutes later I finally got a room key. I was in my room for 3 hours, left to get dinner and couldn't get back in the room. I went back to the front desk and the same person stated I was in the wrong room. What?!?!? Another fifteen minutes and I finally got back in my room. Absolutely ridiculous.

However, once I reached for the bathroom door, it was stuck to the floor and when I yanked it, a lot of hair and dust were behind the door. I also reached for the face towels on the bathroom sink and saw three dead sewage flies right behind the towels. Not sure when the last cleaning went into this room. Breakfast utensils were not there, Tortilla condiments were served but not the tortilla. The friendly hellos of the kitchen staff lightened my heart a bit. I paid 600 dollars for the room for 2 nights and it's not that cheap. I wished the minimum cleanliness.

Everything was great except getting out of the parking deck. Cars would not scan.

The staff was friendly Breakfast was typical for a free breakfast, just not my type of breakfast food.

We were only there for a short time, but everything was as expected. The room was nice and clean. We asked questions and the staff were very knowledgable.

Delicious breakfast and service. The staff is courteous and helpful. The room, dishes, and amenities are clean. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely rebook.

Large, well-appointed room, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen. The only thing which took off one star was what seemed to be plumbing issues - toilets didn’t flush well (in rooms or common areas) though shower water pressure was fine. We also didn’t realize until departure that our fridge was not anywhere close to cold temperature - but we didn’t alert staff to that sooner because we didn’t notice. We definitely plan to be frequent guests, as this was a lovely, well-appointed property next door to my daughter’s apartment building!

The room was clean, but unfortunately, there was a very unpleasant smell in the room.

It was clean, comfortable, and the hotel provided us with complimentary parking when our requested room-type was not available. We also had free EV charging there; they had both Tesla and J1772 chargers.

Went for a mini trip for a concert and the hotel was great and was with in walking distance.
