Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront/North 37th Street

The friendly staff made for a wonderful first-time experience. I’m definitely looking forward to returning.

The property looked nothing like it did on the webpage. It was outdated. Nothing inside was open. Some of the staff was friendly maybe because it was off-season but I was there for farm aid and it was supposed to be the Neptune festival so you think you would have the staff on. Couldn’t get coffee in the morning because she said they were closed. Couldn’t get a drink at night.

Not enough parking, you shouldn’t have to pay for parking if you are staying at the hotel! The power also went out for several hours. We should have been compensated for that!!!

The room was clean and convenient. It had a great view of the ocean, hence we spent a lot of time on the balcony.

The hotel room was clean, the lobby, restaurant, and pools were clean and updated. Everything was in working order. My only complaint was the odd hours of the outdoor pool, that weren't properly recorded on their website, but overall not a deal breaker. The outdoor pool is awesome, so it was a bummer, but all the other amenities made up for it. I would stay here again.

They charge $20 for breakfast and $20 PER NIGHT for parking. You also have to sign up for their rewards program in order to access the internet. Otherwise, no internet.

the water in the pools is very cold, it is not tolerated to be inside.

The room could use a new balcony sliding door, as it was tough to open and close. The plastic furniture on the balcony seemed a little cheap, but it was all clean. Our room was quiet, and all employees were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were easy and efficient. Parking was only $20, which is good for beach waterfront. We had a really nice time on our weekend stay, and I’d recommend this hotel.

The property was beautiful The microwave was down the hall and not in the room.

Also, for booking a suite, we were shocked that literally nothing was in the kitchenette, including even an additional bar of soap for the sink. No plates, napkins/paper towels, cutlery, etc for even microwave meals or anything. Breakfast buffet was also terrible. Food clearly not fresh and I had to ask several times for dishes that were not already dirty. Outdoor pool was nice, and the pool bar was convenient, though there were not nearly enough seating. Also the issue with parking--not enough spaces in the lot connected to the hotel so you have to park across the street and also hope that lot doesn't fill up first. Would likely not be back. Did not measure up to what we have come to expect for a Marriott.

It was an excellent stay all the staff members were very helpful and respectful. The customer service is unbelievable helpful I would highly recommend anyone to stay here

The pool and pool staff were great. The breakfast staff didn’t know what they were doing. There were several items missing and had to ask several times for things. The layout was also confusing. Staff didn’t not understand English well enough. Room needed some major repairs. Sink drained very slow. Shower handle cover plate falling off.

Only one elevator for 13 floors. Often had to wait. Room service only provided every other day. Shampoo and body wash in shower-installed containers ran out. Parking and breakfast cost extra.

Great stay.

Elaina, the evening front desk clerk, was super nice and helpful. Improvements could be made with cleaning or at least dry-mopping more often the hallway where people came in from the beach/pool. I was nervous someone might fall on the wet floor, especially the many elderly people who were there.

the room was very clean n well maintained. the view from the balcony was amazing and directly in front of the beach making it perfect for sunrise n sunset pics. As well as pics of the moonlit ocean. I will consider this place again on my next trip back to Virginia Beach.

the view was so lovely. front desk lady was very nice and welcoming. but..as soon as I walked in the room it smelled so bad like armpits and sweaty a**. I can’t describe that smell but it was coming from the air vent in the room…so everytime you turned the ac on it smelled sooo bad. the sheets had a big red stain on it and little hairs. the sink wouldn’t drain properly. the sofa bed was soooooo hard :( the pool I would give a 8/10. I loved the rocks with the waterfalls. also the bar tender guy at the pool was amazing. overall I would give my experience a 6.5/10.
