Beacon Grand, A Union Square Hotel

The rooms at Beacon Grand are absolutely beautiful, and the historic building itself has a lot of character. The renovation has been done very well and visually this is a really impressive hotel. Unfortunately, the service was much more inconsistent. Several members of staff didn’t seem particularly interested in helping, especially in the lobby bar, where at times it almost felt like they would rather you weren’t there. On the other hand, the bartenders and staff at the rooftop bar were excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The lobby is extremely lively and busy, which can be fun if that is the atmosphere you are looking for, but the hotel overall can also feel quite chaotic. My friend that slept on another floor had a particularly rough night. A dog was barking in a nearby room for hours, and eventually the fire department had to come and gain access to the room. Once that finally became quiet, a party started in the room next door.

Hotel was nice but when we came in around 2AM after going out, the main lobby door which was an automatic was left open a jar and turned off. The lobby was cold, no staff was around and there were men eating chips and pizza in the lobby who looked like they might not have been patrons. Would not have felt comfortable with my girlfriend walking into that alone

Location, very dedicated staff, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Unable to adjust the fan on the wall vent. Not everyone likes to sleep with a fan blowing air and unable to control it. I was able to turn the whole thing off and was able to get better sleep quality.

Close to shops Nothing

Sweetest staff, left me a note thanking me for staying with a free beverage card. Such a sweet gesture and lovely hotel!

This “Grand” hotel doesn’t seem very grand; bath-tub chipped, bathroom smaller than a closet, even the bath rug was too big for the space. No room for toiletries. The room itself was super small. We first got a room on the 3rd floor street side but we had to change because of all the noise. We ended up on 5th floor backside with s view of a roof and ac equipment. Not what we expected from this hotel at this price point.

Location, style, quality

Room was good, bed comfortable. Wali, room ops manager was great after we encountered an issue with a request we made. Hotel appear to give priority to corporate groups with service which was the only real downside.

Great stay! The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was very convenient. Everything went smoothly and I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms well appointed. Could use a luggage rack. Food a bit pricey. Coffee in the lobby would be nice.

huge gaps under door to room. a lot of noise able to enter from hallway passerbys. the bathroom is miniscule.

My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend here, invited friends of our to join us in staying At the Beacon. Staff was amazing, made us feel at home and took care of us and all our guest. Will definitely be coming back for more special occasions.
