The Maverick, powered by Placemakr - River Walk

Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to Todd at the front desk. After a long drive from Houston, being totally unfamiliar with Texas and the States, as my wife and I are from the UK and were on our honeymoon - he went above and beyond for us, to rectify a slight room discrepancy we encountered on arrival. The booking options on the listing did not differentiate between a city view option vs a standard option. We had expected a city view based on the photos shown when selecting the room. Upon check in, we went to a 3rd floor room with an alley/fire escape view. He very swiftly addressed this with no hassle, moving us to a beautiful room with stunning views, and escalated the website listing to his team. He gave us some good local recommendations, and some complimentary vouchers for Voodoo doughnuts just next door! He made this an easy fix for us and made us feel so welcome. All the staff throughout our stay were great, and helped when in need. The room was well fitted and furnished, very new and clean. The property has great amenties, and a speakeasy style bar with live comedy downstairs! Very walkable with access to bars, restaurants, and to the SanAn River walk and Alamo. A great location and a lovely historic building - which has been modernised and newly fitted, whilst retaining its historic charm. Thanks to the team for a lovely stay, would happily stay with you again on a return trip, and highly recommend*****

Hotel & staff were nice. The rooms are fairly large & beds are comfortable. The hotel supplies you with ear plugs due to how LOUD it is at night. Valet is $42/night, but it’s super convenient. Garages are just as expensive or you have to walk a distance to get your vehicle. Would I stay again? No.

First time staying in downtown san antonio and this hotel was perfect stay. Besides the great city views, everything was nearby just depending where you head to. My wife and i really enjoyed it. Awesome helpful staff. Those historic modern vibes as you go to your room.

Staff were very friendly, and helped answer our questions since it was our first stay here. Only down side was there wasn't parking on site, however a parking garage close by.

The Maverick felt like a hidden gem. It is situated perfectly in downtown SA. The building itself is charming and bears some history. The room itself was just perfect, and the fact that it came with its own kitchen just made it that much better. Getting around was easy and the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. 10/10 and would definitely book again.

Definitely not a 4 star Hotel

location was great NOISE. No amount of sound machine or ear plugs can handle the sounds of trucks slamming supplies or beeping or whatever they were doing. Also, the entry way smells like sewage to walk into the building.

Beautiful studio rooms, the beds are sooo comfortable, kitchens is stocked and the living room area is so chic. I have no complaints or negative feedback for this place. It’s right in the middle of everything, so walking, getting an uber or renting a scooter is just great. I love the security system and the ac works amazingly. The staff are helpful and kind! So if you need help deciding on a place this is the place to get!
