Comfort Inn & Suites New Iberia - Avery Island

Very good

Keeping your expectations in line with cost, it’s easy to appreciate this hotel. The high point is definitely the upbeat and helpful staff. They elevate the experience. There were a few cleanliness items (sticky floor in food service area, spots on one towel) but overall cleanliness was good, and the bed and bathroom were clean, comfortable. There was a distinct smell of strong cleaners in the halls and lobby, but if I’m smelling anything, disinfectants beat smoke or mold every time! Overall, a pleasant stay well worth the price.

We liked the location to everything we wanted to see in the area. We loved the fresh lemon water and coffee available in the lobby. The included breakfast was quite nice! The pillows and bed were very comfortable! The staff was very helpful!!! The cleaning fluid in a certain area of the ground floor was very strong smelling. The TV remote was hard to turn on but was usable.

Good location Everything didn't work in my room

The smell of carpet fresh nearly knocks you out when you walk through the entrance doors. Very outdated rooms. The floors were very sticky and dirty. Rooms need updating . No pool, Workout room had only one working machine of the two they had. Would not stay here again.

My only complaint was that the room I had was right next to the elevator and made a slight noise I could hear in my room whenever someone would use it. At night I would hear people talking while waiting for the elevator and then the elevator noise itself. The room was spotless and the staff was amazing though. Will definitely go back just not to room 101.

Location is difficult to get to. Lots of holes in the road to get there. This is my second stay in a month and both times I was locked out of my room. It is an agravation when you get to your door and the key quit working and you have to go all the way back to the front desk to reactivate it. Desk person didn't even say sorry for the inconvienence

The staff each day was very friendly, kind and helpful. They all was very attentive to guests and their needs. access from the main street did not align with the niceness of the hotel.

The rooms were a little smaller than I preferred. The sign said they have suites. I’d prefer one of them next time, it was my wife and teenage son. It seemed a little congested.

I prefer a larger room. The sign also says suites but I’ve only been offered the smaller rooms

Even more concerning, someone had opened my hotel room door and left the lock disengaged. I believe they were maintaining the AC units because the hallway was full of equipment and parts. To the workers: Please never open a guest’s door and leave it unlocked or unsecured. I had valuables in my room, and there was no one there at the time. That is a serious security issue. Between the bed bug bites and the unsecured room, this was a very disappointing and disgusting experience.
