avid hotel Madison - Huntsville West by IHG

Location and availability. Cost too much for the room you get.

Good job but ..Ice maker was leaking water around the machine. And...when we went to our room the door lock was loose. The worker promptly got us another room. Said "no maintenance on hand".

First room has hair on the sink, a wet towel in the bathroom floor, and another set of room keys by TV. Went back to lobby. Received another room. Front desk person basically left us at the desk after saying “grab something from the snack area”. She apparently went and checked the room ahead of us as she was coming out of the room as we were going in it.

Overall, we had a good experience at Avid. It was a nice hotel for the price we paid. The showerhead was so nice and the bed was comfortable. The only complaint I would say is that door closets to our room, the key pad didn’t work. So we had to walk all the way to the main entrance to enter. The complementary breakfast buffet was okay. Good location for us also.

Check in staff were very nice, but overall poor choice of hotel room done by myself. The bed was uncomfortable. It felt springy. The sheets snd pillowcases were so wrinkly it was hard to tell if they were truly changed and hopefully cleaned. The room was tiny. There were black hairs all over the floor in the bathroom. There were tiny black bugs crawling on the bathroom floor coming out of the corners of the walls. It was very gross. I will not stay at this particular hotel again. Room was not refunded.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was adequate. only stayed overnight. Did not take advantage ot the free breakfast. Only negatives were no microwave and no in room coffee maker. Overall, very nice stay for the money.

Brand new facility. Very clean. Staff was exceptionally helpful to get us a room with a walk in shower. Breakfast was very good. Large room. We would definitely stay here again.
