Hyatt House Columbus OSU / Short North

The room was nice and clean. Beds were comfy. Staff was friendly and the location was perfect I booked my stay with a 3rd party. Wen I looked at my bank account I noticed I had been charged from the 3rd party and the hotel also charged me and charged me $30 more than what I already paid. When I called Lou answered. The tone in her voice just was not the friendliest. She transferred me to the manager. She stated it was an accident on thier end and should get my money returned in 3-5 business days. And I didn't like that I couldn't lay in bed and watch TV. I could only see the back of the TV

My interaction with the front desk was probably the worst I've experienced in recent memory. She was on her phone and didn't even look up to greet me. Even after I greeted her, she acted as though she was put out even checking me in. She didn't understand how to use my credit card and made some excuse that she thought I was "some guest that needed something." Which I was.

Excellent full breakfast: lots of variety and different dishes every day. Great location also, near the OSU Medical Center and the OSU campus, both within walking distance.

Great host at the bar!! Mark I think his name was. I would definitely stay there again.

It was a good location I was given the wrong room and overly charged

Needed a hotel for the night and it was the cheapest, nice looking hotel I could find. It ended up being the nicest hotel I’ve ever been to. The staff was great, the breakfast was phenomenal, and everything was super clean. Only complaint was that the downstairs tile floors seemed super sticky, but if that’s my only complaint, I see it as a huge win. Good water pressure, comfortable bed/pillows, and great hospitality. I’ll definitely stay here again!

Exceptional

Room 501 is next to 315 and loud. The blackout blinds in the bedroom were not working. The lights from the cars along with the noise kept us up all night. The next day my son missed 2 qtrs of the OSU game because he didn’t sleep well. It was tough.

Breakfast was only average .,..expected better

The breakfast was very good. The first person i encountered (the front desk clerk) was not very welcoming. I went back down to the lobby to tell her I believed my key didn’t work and she told my it worked, I just need to “put a little muscle” into pushing the heavy door open. We got in late so we went to sleep almost immediately but we got up soaking wet because the a.c. blew out hot air regardless of the thermostat settings. I informed the staff and they sent up a maintenance man. He was pleasant enough but didn’t fix the problem. I told the front desk clerk that I payed a lot of money for a Hyatt room so please fix it or move us to a different room. The clerk (not the same as the first night) did move us. Over all, the staff just wasn’t overly friendly. We were a little disappointed as everyone else in Columbus, Ohio were very friendly and welcoming.

Had a room reserved, got in around 1am to find no rooms available. They had overbooked .

Room clean and spacious end unit near highway extremely noisy. One member of our team did not have a room available per our reservation
