when I arrived to check in at 2;30 pm I was told there is not a room ready for me I should come back in a couple of hours lol maybe by 4 or 5 at the latest REALLY?? I just spent half a day traveling and needed to get cleaned up , rest a little bit and meet my companions for dinner I was not offered any thing helpful to ease the situation instead I was told to feel free to find other accommodations some where else , but wait I paid to stay here , ohh too bad for me . I ask to speak to a manager and was given her e mail address to send a message , so no manager on site , no customer relations and many other people waiting for a room as well , The expedia listing shows a very nice place with a bar and dining but that was not there the place looked tired and in need of some restoration work and maybe more than one person working. I did not receive what I paid for and I did not get a refund I did not get a room and I did not get any response from anyone on site or from expedia my money was simply a donation , I did find a different room a few blocks away that was waiting for my arrival , no wait no story and not told to go find other accommodations elsewhere

Booking price was established on Expedia. It was charged the day before our stay. The establishment said my card on file didn’t go through, so we had to give my husbands card on site. They have now booked us twice for our stay and claiming the second charge as “fees”. Do not book from at this establishment. Thankfully Expedia is helping me resolve.

I really enjoyed my stay it was a nice artsy. Staff was helpful.

What I didn’t like was how dim the lights in the room were, also check out is 11, but the made knocked before 10 and before I could get to the door she was coming in my room! I did not appreciate that!

No AC should’ve prompted an automatic refund. Will never be back and don’t recommend to anyone else unless you wanna get jerked around.

For example, the laundry machine. In order to use the self- serve laundry machine you have to purchase a $59.99 per night loyalty/gold standard. This gives you access to free drinks at particular establishments, games, laundry, and community kitchen. However, I wasn't aware of this until after getting to the hotel and being told this information. For those who see self-serve laundry service available, just note it comes with a$59.99 per night fee. Additionally, the basic stay only comes with a room that has a bed and restroom/shower, no mini fridge, no coffee maker, no amenities that a majority of hotels offer.

Hubby and I had a great stay here, the bed and linen were excellent quality, our room and the whole place was clean and tidy a friendly and helpful team of staff and the location was excellent for dining and site seeing. First time in Chicago and we want to come back. Thank you Chicago Hotel Collection River North you gave us excellent quality at an affordable rate 😎🌟

Didn,t get the room i booked.

- No air conditioning - L train line runs less than 5 feet from the room's window - wifi password was only given if you purchase a $59 guest club membership - Kitchen cabinets were completely bare with no cups. We had to go to the front desk to get even a plastic cup. -Checkin person was unhelpful - On the positive side, the room was quiet and the location is great.

The hotels AC was not working the entire time we were there (2 night stay). They gave us three fans, one of them didn’t even work. The entire time we were there the elevator didn’t work so we had to walk up a flight of stairs with all of our stuff, mind you there were six of us. Instead of giving us a room on the first floor for free since that was clearly an inconvenience they offered a room on the first floor for an extra $50. The room was so small. I’m not usually a picky person when it comes to hotels because at the end of the day it’s a place to sleep and get ready at but this was not a great experience.

Directly next to the Brown line, staff often not available, resort fee listed as $49.99 daily to use the internet is a huge turnoff.

I love the idea of being able to cook a homemade meal. Staff is very nice and friendly

Must purchase a "special" guest package. That was not listed, just found out about when we got there. $79 a day, plus a $39 fee to process the taking of my $79. The "special package" gets you two drinks,.... not at the cafe/bar shown in the picture, because that isn't open!! Decor is cool, staff was fine, overall value horrible, save your money for someplace that has no surprise fees, and actually gives what they advertise in the pictures.
