The perfect spot for our weekend National Park trip! Had everything our family needed.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Stay was great other than the pool being close.

Great location near Carlsbad Cavern (45 minutes to visitor center) and Guadalupe Mountains (50 minutes to visitor center) National Parks. Very good hot breakfast in the AM (Croisant breakfast sandwiches, bacon, scrambled eggs, waffle maker, fresh oatmeal, juices, and other continental breakfast items. Beds were extremely comfortable and shower had good pressure and stable hot water. The pool was excellent and refreshing in the 100 F heat. Tesla 350kW Supercharger in the parking lot was the entire reason we chose the Fairfield Inn -- Tesla charging network has been sparse (non-existent) in the lower area of New Mexico, making reaching Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks challenging to impossible (with the winds in the area) - the addition of the Tesla Supercharger in Carlsbad (Fairfield Inn) relieved that challenge (a bit) [Tesla needs to install the approved (2025) Supercharger in Roswell, NM to address needing 105% charge (or more) to make it from Carlsbad to Santa Rosa, NM, without spending HOURS at destination chargers]. Easy walk next door to Walmart for supplies / food (or in our case, forgotten articles of clothing). The hotel charged me $41 more than what Booking.com had quoted me. AC unit in room made strange noises when compressor was off (but kept the room cool). You can definitely hear the trucks on the highway until around 8PM when the traffic literally disappeared (except for a handful of stragglers till around midnight -- not loud enough to wake me up once I fell asleep).

Clean a very quiet

That experience was obviously not what I expected from a Fairfield Inn. Not only was the sink clogged but the curtains in both rooms were dangling detached from the rods and the maintenance was a bit shabby despite the hotel charging an extra $100 compared to rates a month earlier because of prime time for the bats. I asked for a discount to compensate for the poor check in experience, suggesting that refunding the extra $100 would be a fair gesture. I was offered a $15 discount which I declined and restated my case. Clearly the housekeepers aren’t cleaning the bathrooms adequately if they don’t notice the sink holding stinky water! The manager reconsidered and offered $50 as her best offer. At check out there were no carts. They have two carts for 91 rooms. I would not book there again.

Exceptional

Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was basic continental fare. Would have been nice to have better selection of fruit and maybe swap out the sausage w/ bacon. Hotel is next to main highway thru Carlsbad, so avoid rooms on front of building because of noise. We enjoyed our stay though.

It was as great to find this hotel had electric car charging stations.
-
Booked this hotel for the use of the pool for our children on Fourth of July weekend so they had a fun time, unfortunately the pool was closed in the middle of the summer. So we checked out early. I have yet to hear from the property manager to let us know if we can get a refund for the night NOT used. Don’t include the pool in your listings if we can’t use it.

Pool was out of service, and the beds were not the most comfortable, room was clean and staff was helpful

Megan at the front desk was absolutely amazing! Went out of her way to solve or issue of our confirmation not being sent. Conformation not being sent

This didn’t feel like typical marriotts, we are platinum elite and stay at Marriott’s a lot and this one was disappointing. We had our granddaughters with us and they wanted to swim, pool was out of order. Beds were very hard, breakfast was not that good and the bold coffee was like drinking a cup of hot water. Being there on the 4th and not having the pool working is not acceptable especially since I noticed a review a few days before ours that said pool was out of order then too.

So the hotel itself was nice, clean and pleasant. Staff was helpful. Only thing I have a complaint about is the pullout bed. We got a suite since we are a family of 5 the pullout bed was terrible the mattress was literally like 2 inches wide. My son ended up sleeping on the floor since the pullout was super uncomfortable he could feel the springs, and the pillows were hard as well. Other than that our stay was nice.
