Old old old hotel. Furnished nicely and fun.

Although enjoyed building’s history and architecture it is in need of some repairs. Enjoyed reading daily knowledge display downstairs, front room cozy with fireplace and friendly front desk staff. Comfortable and clean room. Easy & well-lit parking.

The bed was comfortable. We appreciated the $4.50 vouchers for breakfast. Thank you for the lotion, soaps, shampoo, etc. The Hotel is such a weird combo of old and semi-old. Nothing felt up-to-date. Many pipes and wires are running all over the place. The floor in our room was drastically unlevel,. It felt unsafe to me with a space heater that we had to plug into a power strip that was already overloaded in my opinion. If every room has the same set-up it seems that an electrical fire could happen so easily.. We had to laugh at the room key that looked like one we would have been given twenty years ago. Then to open our door my husband had to basically throw his entire weight against the door to get it to open. It jams at the top and has an open space along the bottom of at least one inch where light came through into our room when we were trying to sleep. I felt the price was way high for how everything in the room was pieced together and nothing seemed to work right. The space heater only worked off and on. The tv doesn't have a guide so you just had to go through all the channels one by one.

Hotel Coolidge is a vintage place. You have to like these old places, which I do. That being said, the mattress was new and comfortable and I got a good night sleep. The Amtrak station is right there and the daily Amtrak arrived at 6:00pm from the south, just in time to check in and get a meal at the excellent Tuckerbox restaurant right next door. The trains run all night but that’s a sound I sleep through. Arriving by train and staying at The Hotel Coolidge is a Time Machine experience to enjoy.

The room was so cute, lights on when I arrived. It was perfectly charming.

Our room was clean. Bed comfortable. Water hot. The checkin gal was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Two mornings there were not enough bulk carafe coffee available and the morning attendant was busy at the computer. A Keurig is available though. The wifi was weak, but was able to complete necessary tasks. Overall, the stay was satisfactory.

All in all it was a fine place to stay.

We were greeted by the owner/ Inn Keeper David and his staff assistant Tom! The experience was awesome and a great way to explore the town and local flavors! We will do this again!! That we didn’t stay longer!
