Clean room and nice staff people

Room smelled like a hospital and was dirty, including a nasty toilet. The suite was supposed to have amenities for cooking. There was a plate and two coffee mugs, the tops of two pans and a small pan that was filthy, no silverware. The cooling/heating system was on cold and could not be changed or shutoff. Freezing in the room the whole time. The atmosphere was not good and I took my bags with me when I left to go to meetings and etc. I was excited to stay in Sonesta but was very disappointed. I did not feel safe and one evening when I came back for the night there were people partying and one person was peeing in the parking lot. No management. I would strongly recommend that people choose not to book a stay at this hotel. I rarely write my experiences in hotels when I travel but felt I should let others know not to choose this place. Expedia should be ashamed and I will look at other servers before booking with Expedia.

The room was so dirty. Please do proper deep cleans of your facilities and rooms.

Location was 8minutes away from my wedding venue It was dirty, no staff to help at night & they didn’t answer the number that was provided.

I had specifically picked this hotel because I noticed the amenities as far as tv & kitchen inside of the room. When I tried to connect my laptop through HDMI, the remote that was provided didn’t let you switch to HDMI, went to the front desk to ask for the remote that had been displayed on the cork board in the room & the front desk person explained that they didn’t have any remotes but 1 because all of the remotes had been given to long time stayers. I tried using the remote that was given & it did not work at all. Not sure why they don’t have a remote for every room, it’s very inconvenient. The TV isn’t a smart tv so if you plan to binge a show you more than likely will not be able to because you can’t switch to HDMI nor is it a smart tv with apps you can go to.

No coffee maker in the room, went to front desk and given the wrong one. Went back second time. Used wash cloth left in shower. Missed dirt on floor and carpetting. Stains on kithcen counter.

I DID NOT STAY. MY ROOM WAS NOT HELD. THEY GAVE IT AWAY AND THEY WERE FULLY BOOKED.

Room was dirty, the couple dishes that were present were discussing and they were in the dish washer. Pans that were in drawers had stuck on food. Freshly shaven men facial hair in bathroom. We did mention it to staff who stated sponge and soap were in room which it had NOT been. Room was hot had the temp at 60 as I was making floral arrangements and room was still warm! The one is Schaumburg is 1000x better no pool no breakfast just sad!

Very disappointing stay. The hotel felt old, poorly maintained, and not very clean. The worst part was when we first entered our room—the floor was wet with no warning sign, and my girlfriend immediately slipped and fell, hurting her elbow. This is a serious safety issue and should never happen in a hotel room. Overall, we did not feel comfortable with the cleanliness or condition of the property. Definitely not a good experience, and I would not recommend this hotel.

Great location

I probably wouldn’t recommend staying here. The property feels very old, and there was a strong mildew smell throughout my room. It was bad enough that I had to ask to be moved to another room. Even after switching rooms, the overall condition of the property still felt dated and unpleasant. The biggest issue for me was definitely the smell.

* No toilet paper or Kleenex in the room when we checked in * Staff was short handed on check-in * Floors in the room seemed slippery * Noisy people above us and to the side means the soundproofing was not good at all * Dishwasher was full and glasses, plates not put away upon our arrival * Lid to the coffee pot was broken * Towel rack by shower was broken and not screwed in well * Didn't seem like trash was picked up in a timely manner from hallways * No reading light in the living room by the couch * Recliner was partially broken - leaned too far back The whole experience seemed to be a low-cost, low-end operation and I am not inclined to use a Sonesta brand in the future.
