Schooner Inn

The staff was always available, friendly, and helpful. We had a wonderful beach view. We had a clean room with a balcony. I will definitely stay again.

First time in Virginia Beach. The Schooner Inn is so well situated to enjoy the beach, boardwalk and local restaurants. Try the chef's burger at Big Sam's Inlet Cafe. The staff at the Schooner Inn was so helpful. The view of the sunrise, surfers, swimmers, walkers, bikers, and boats from my window and balcony never ceased to please.

Great location. We have stayed there many times. The staff is really nice. They need more luggage carts.

This place never disappoints. Everything was clean, always a plus having a kitchenette while on vacation. You can't beat the location and the oceanview. Staff was welcoming and very helpful. Overall excellent place to stay.

The motel shows some aging but the rooms are clean and in good condition which makes it a real value considering their rates.

We had a wonderful time at this property! Waking up to the sunrise was absolutely breath-taking. The staff was great!! Very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. I will definitely stay here again! I would have given 5 stars, but the property is a bit dated. I believe that they are replacing mattresses, but ours was still very lumpy and somewhat uncomfortable. Overall, this is a great place to stay with direct access to the beach. We will definitely stay here again!

This hotel has an amazing view of the Rudie Inlet and is a short walk on the beach. Access to many restaurants within a short walking distance.

Good stay for the price, balcony facing the beach was lovely. Recommend carpooling if traveling with friends as the parking lot only allows one space per unit and the nearest parking garage is several blocks away. Other than that, I got my money's worth and had a great time!

Wasn’t what i was expecting but it was ok

Older hotel, nice idea/theme right on the water, definitely rough around the edges and dated, cleanliness was an issue, and walls were paper thin for noise. The jacuzzi is heart shaped and showed its age/wear all around. I arrived at night and the outside atmosphere was negative (people). I checked in at 7:05 p.m. and checked out at 9:00 p.m. and drove back to my state. The staff understood and were very accommodating. The hotel is neatly themed but needs an overhaul to include the elevators which were questionable. I did wonder if I was going to get stuck and you could tell the dilapidation was covered up (panels with screws). The balcony door was very difficult to open and the light near the door flickered for a while when turned on before staying on consistently.

Seems I have a love/hate relationship here. Perfect location. Great old school lodging. I would stay here again, but I would be a little more persistent about getting the crew to stop by and give it a little daily care. We didn't get any clean towels or trash service while we were there. It's a little bit tired. There was a lot of dirt and dust on floorboards and other less obvious areas. The value was really great, but it isn't a luxury beach hotel.

We had a wonderful visit. Of course it was too cold to use the pool this time of year, but the view of the ocean was spectacular. The only issue I can honestly complain about was the parking. Wasn’t the worse but it was a lot hard to navigate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back in the spring. To visit our daughter in the Navy

On arrival, I was disappointed to find that the hotel did not have on record that I had requested a room next to my friend. My friends also requested a room near me. They were not able to give me a room on the same floor. The hotel structure is older which you can see in the hallways. The rooms are all updated though. We also noticed the safe had a rusty hinge making it unable to use. Another problem area was the outlet near the sink. It was not working and I had to move the coffee maker to another area. Overall, I would consider staying at this hotel again.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Everything thing was clean and well maintained. It’s an older hotel and well cared for close to everything and parking is onsite. Would stay again.

Room was clean and having a balcony overlooking the beach was great! Good restaurants and a good coffee shop within walking distance (2-5 blocks) Really enjoyed the pool. Customer service was very friendly and housekeeping was very good.

First on Boardwalk, quiet. Great front desk staff.. Clean rooms. Best in walking distance to restaurants Chix's, Watermans, Mahi's, Sunnyside Breaskfast the best.

The staff was great! The place was dirty. The elevators were really disgusting, dirty, and looked like a crime scene of dirt- the walls, the floors. The bedspread was stained, and the towels smelled bad. Location is good, good view

We had a great view of the beach and the whirlpool tub was very relazing.

We always enjoy our stay at the Schooner Inn. It provides easy access to the beach and nearby fishing in Rhudee Inlet. There are several great restaurants in walking distance and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
