With renovation in progress at the hotel, we had a substandard stay at the Kierland Resort. Entire lobby closed, shops moved to cramped temporary rooms. The one bar which has supposedly completed its renovation was not open during our multi-night stay. Instead they relocated this bar to a meeting room with a temporary bar set up. Not impressed. Imagine paying over $20 for a margarita at the temporary bar poorly lit and no ambiance. The pool is poorly maintained -- especially on Saturday there was garbage everywhere along the poolside and seemingly no effort being made to clean up. Supposedly the pool is open until late in the evening, however the management shuts all the lighting off in the pool area around 6PM -- leaving guests to wander in the dark in the evening. The pool bar also closes very early so there is no chance of eating or drinking by the pool in the evening. We heard the pool will be shut for renovation soon too. Most surprising is there was no warning at the time of booking of this renovation. We and our friends spent thousands to travel to a construction site. And Westin Kierland management are simply asleep at the wheel in any attempt to maximize the customer experience. Stay away.

No vending machines and no smoking area
-
Property is undergoing major renovations and should not be charging the exorbitant rates the are, while there are many inconveniences and severely limited services.
-
Beautiful well maintained property. Updated/clean rooms. Exceptional restaurants. The pool/lazy river is always the best! The location is great! Walking distance to shops and dining.
-
The Scotch Bar was closed for remodeling and its scotches couldn’t be ordered anywhere else. The only restaurant open for lunch on Wednesday was at the golf course.
-
Under construction which was fine but my original room had a ton of ants and the air conditioner wasn’t working. Staff was kind and friendly and accommodating when requesting to change my room.
-
The room was nice, and we enjoyed the pool and lazy river, although that is where they should be doing the construction as many tiles have fallen off.
-
A+ like always, great location
-
Rooms were great. The staff was super friendly. The lazy river was great.

We were there to celebrate a special occasion and was not as pleasant as we thought it would be, since we go to this location every year. We did receive some adjustments to our fees which we appreciate, but again guests should have been notified of the construction at the time of booking, and we would have made the decision to stay there or look for another resort that would have all of their amenities in place.

Great!
-
I wish there was vending machines to purchase water and snacks after hours.
-
I was never told the Hotels under construction. I would’ve never booked it. It was a waste of my money.
-
Overrated on review, place under constructions , no place to hang out in the lobby except 2 chairs. Pools not bad .Staff are friendly and helpful
-
Even though they were starting renovations, the facilities were well maintained. The staff was excellent and gave out abundant water to keep everyone hydrated during the very hot time of the year. I would stay again.
