The Stockade Inn

This place is very cool and the location can’t be beat! All was great!

Very knowledgeable and attentive staff who provided an excellent suggestion for dinner. Loved the ambiance and large rooms of this historic hotel.

Pictures on line are a bit misleading. Hotel is outdated. More of a b and b. No overnight staff. Large odd rooms. Couldn’t figure out the tv. Clean and reasonable price but you get what you pay for. Stayed September 2026.

I only saw one hotel person for a few minutes, otherwise it seemed shut down. Room was nice, building was nice just seemed like I was the only one in the building.

This is such a beautiful property in an amazing neighborhood. They have a wonderful cafe right in the building, which is way more like a former mansion than a hotel. They also offer yoga, which we did not take part in. The caretaker is top notch and gives the absolute highest level of service possible, he even took us on a tour when we asked if we could poke around all the various rooms. Could not recommend this any higher or over any other option you could find. All this in a gorgeous city neighborhood with free parking!

The only negative is that the laundry service uses far too much fabric softener; the sheets feel greasy in the beds, and the towels do nothing more than smear the water around instead of dry you off. We are planning on staying her again, so I really hope they remedy this!

Quiet and comfortable and the staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive

The Stockade Inn stands in a class by itself. You will not find a more unique, beautiful, historically relevant hotel. New-world comfort with old-world charm. Five Stars and beyond, in part because there are so many wonderful places to walk to nearby in The Stockade District of Schenectady. Also, great restaurants nearby, too. We want to return soon.

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Union College.
