Location and nice staff Dirty, not cleaned daily, food particles never hoovered up. Cups coffee etc not replenished. Coffee creamer powder sachets rock hard. Poor shower. Very dated!

I really loved this hotel, the suite was conformable, the staff, the whole hotel was beautiful I had a bad experience. I went to ladies restroom at bar. I realized 10 minutes after that I forgot my light sweater top hanging on the bathroom used. I felt happy kind of when I saw the maintenance lady who already cleaned the whole restroom. When I asked her, she denied seeing that top. I Got very suspicious cause the bar was empty and I was the only lady. Then I went to reception to ask for a lost and found black top, they checked, and nobody bring that top. When I jump back to the elevator, the cleaning lady was coming out and I perceived the nervous coming on her face.. I loved that top. Maybe I can purchase that cheap piece in future. but I hate the lie. I don't beleive in casualties, she entered the restoom right after me

There are no vending machines at all. If you don’t make it to cvs in time you’re stuck with charging to use fiji water bottles until morning. Voucher is “same day” credit for restaurant downstairs from the daily resort fee. Overall fine, clean, & friendly. Great rooftop gym, pool, & hot-tub. Restrooms are a bit outdated on the tubs but rooms are nice.

Location was quiet and right on the river but away from the hustle and bustle. We checked in around 7pm. Young man was so courteous and really made us feel welcome. The bag check/concierge was amazing. Bar was good and service rocked. Some cleanliness concerns in bathroom with dirty walls by trash can and toilet. Spa front desk was condescending. Front desk in the day was lacking in good customer service. We stood at the counter with no acknowledgment for a few minutes while she typed in her computer. Would have been nice to hear..I’ll be right with you with a smile.

Location was wonderful. Staff was very attentive especially Francisco. Nothing but the summer heat at times.

This hotel was in a great location with direct access to the river walk. It was a short walk to the Alamo, western art museum, and other nearby attractions. They had a bar and restaurant on-site which made it convenient to grab food and drinks. Our room was very spacious and the AC worked great.

The Peloton bikes both had damage preventing the user from adjusting the bike for fit. For a higher end hotel, I would expect better, especially one that has a daily amenities charge.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, I was asleep in the bedroom of our hotel room while my wife was taking a bath in the bathroom. Without knocking, receiving permission, or providing any advance notice, a maintenance employee entered our room. My wife was completely exposed and understandably became frightened when a stranger suddenly entered the room. She had to scream at him to leave. I cannot adequately express how violating and frightening this experience was for both of us, particularly for my wife, who was in a completely private and vulnerable situation. What makes this even more unacceptable is that we were not contacted beforehand. We did not receive a call to our room informing us that maintenance personnel would be entering. In fact, we received a phone call approximately 15 minutes AFTER the incident had already occurred. A notification after someone has already entered a guest's occupied room is not a notification at all. I immediately brought the matter to the attention of the manager. Unfortunately, rather than showing concern for what had happened or taking responsibility for the seriousness of the situation, I found Karen's response to be rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in compassion. Most disturbingly, she went so far as to dare me to call the police. I took her seriously. I contacted the police, and officers came to the hotel and filed an official report regarding the incident. At that point, my wife was so distressed that she no longer felt safe staying at the Contessa. She told me that she would not be able to sleep that night because she was afraid someone might enter the room again without warning. We therefore had no choice but to immediately leave the hotel and pay to stay at another establishment. What I hated the most is the hotel mentioned that since we booked through booking, we would have to initiate our refund through them.

All hotel I visited, they included the breakfast.

The property was very dated. Obviously we knew it was an old building but the faucets were loose, toilet and toilet paper holders were loose. Grout was broken and gone. The tub had a half way paint job. The hot water worked when it wanted to. The staff was loud and rude. It’s not worth the money at all. This building with its staff should be half the price.

The staff at the bar and restaurant were nice and the meals and drinks were very good. The property inside and out could use a good deep cleaning. When I checked in and went to the room, there were holes and lots of peeling paint in the room. There was a large area on the bathroom wall that had peeling paint and it looked awful. When I approached the front desk staff they upgraded us to a different room. However, the new room also had a lot of chipped paint and the appearance of the room was very worn. There was a lot of dust that fell from the bathroom vent each time we used it.
