City Express By Marriott St. Augustine

Don’t expect any kind of breakfast. Plastic cutlery and paper plates and very little choice. Mini muffins, English muffin, cereal or rubber egg omelette and coffee from flask. Disappointing.

Great place to stay, clean, quiet, free parking. The A/C was okay, was slightly noisy and didn’t get the room cold enough. But overall was a great stay.

The hotel was a comfortable retreat. The pool was warm and relaxing. Loved the 24 hr coffee choice machine. Great staff as well.

The room would have been nice if we didn't have ants everywhere. The bed and pillows were very comfortable however. Really wish that they had an ice machine available on the property and do not mind them going 3 days without cleaning the room but with a toddler in tow we needed a better option for getting rid of trash like a dumpster or leaving it somewhere. It didn't help with an already bad ant situation. The staff was very friendly at the desk. The breakfast was not good at all. The only option one morning was egg, an egg omelet thing and 3 kinds of cereal. I think there may have also been a few bagels. After that we stuck to going out for breakfast in the mornings. We also took advantage of the pool and hot tub. Nice little pool but the pool was warmer than the hot tub and very few jets in it. Definitely needs an upgrade.

Clean room, convenient parking

Our biggest issue during our stay was the complete lack of hot water, at least in Room 311 on the third floor. This was supposed to be a special anniversary stay, and given that this is a Marriott property, we expected a certain level of quality and service. We called the front desk the first time and nobody answered. When we called again, the host answered and told us someone would be there within 30 minutes to check the hot water. Unfortunately, no one ever came—no knock on the door, no follow-up call, no explanation, and no resolution. There were several other disappointments as well. The bed was not particularly comfortable, and we encountered black racers on the property. The breakfast could also use some improvement. There were only three cereal options, a plain bagel or English muffin, with butter and cream cheese available. Plain or veg mini omelette.The coffee was standard, but there weren’t many options for customizing it—only Coffee-mate was available. We also did not see housekeeping during our Friday–Sunday stay. We were told rooms are serviced every three days and that we could call if we needed anything, which is understandable, but given the overall experience, the lack of proactive service was noticeable. Overall, the stay was disappointing, especially considering it was meant to be an anniversary getaway. We expected more from a Marriott property and hope management takes this feedback seriously.

Very Well mannered staff overall and very clean facilities. Apparently they have just opened up about 4-5 months ago.

The breakfast was not great but the free espresso coffee machine was.

The hotel is a bit far from all the attractions, but it looked clean and newly remodeled. Unfortunately the water had a really bad odor, and the room I stayed had a few roaches. Overall not a bad hotel, just minor things for them to improve.
