Westgate New York Grand Central

Staff amazing. A boutique hotel. Historic. Comfortable hotel. Small by New York standards. Felt like home. No kitchen but a bar and plenty of places to eat locally. No problem. For me and my wife it was just perfect. Nothing. It was a very nice place to stay.

Location, most staff. Manager who helped us with our cockroaches situation. Cockroaches in room, manager was very accommodating and did upgrade us to a suite for our last few nights. We were there for a week. We were there for a week. It would’ve been nice to have some variety in the morning breakfast throughout the week. Everyday it was the same.

Kevin, in reception, was incredibly good and helpful. He went above and beyond to make our stay as much as possible comfortable. He was very attentive to resolve an issue with our room and he gave us a room that made our stay so memorable (with balcony). Every single member of staff (reception, cleaners, doormen...) were so good and kind. Honestly, we recommend everyone to stay in this hotel, not only for comfort and location (it is walking distance to main attractions), but also, the staff, who should be greatly rewarded for their service, especially, Kevin.

The staff was great, but the property is not so nice. The rooms are EXTREMELY small! Literally only enough room for a bed. The bathroom is outdated and the tub wasn't the cleanest or the nicest. For the price I paid, I expected wayyyyy more. I wouldn't stay here again.

The only good thing about the room was the bed which was very comfortable (but for a single person, it is a small bed) I spent more than $1200 per night for a single room, received very basic amenities (just got towel shampoo, and some basic tea bags), the rooms was dark, the aircon was not working properly, it was freezing cold and the hotel refused to turn on the central heater and I ended up with cough and fever.

Could hear sound of elevator at night. Never really in the room cause it’s NYC

This place was amazing. Unfortunately, I was only there a night but would definitely stay again. HUGE room for Manhattan and they upgraded me to a king without me asking. Also, very quiet! Room had a desk and a sofa as well as the king bed. Bathroom had the best lighting I’ve ever had in a hotel room, and I travel a lot for work (what is with most hotel bathrooms? Just the worst lighting ever!) Hair dryer was powerful, water pressure great and bed comfortable. What else could you ask for?! 😂

Located right next to grand central station & within walking distance of many major sites eg Rockafeller & Empire State Building. Sometimes got a bit noisy at night but I think this is the case all over New York was nothing to do with the hotel!
