Location was perfect. Walking distance to the Wharf. Short drive to Cannery Row. Beds and pillows very comfortable. This hotel has the potential to be spectacular. The grounds have been somewhat let go. The breakfast was so-so. Some of the rooms are dark and dungeon like. We had to ask to be moved.

Large room with fireplace with a shower and a tub. Left too early to check out the breakfast. Staff was very kind and helpful. Restaurants are walkable. They rent bikes!
-
My King room was large and very nice.Staff good.Property could use some updating.

Great breakfast in the morning, super friendly staff and accommodating for minor things like AC not working they brought up a fan to the room super fast. In a good area where you can walk to most of the area places downtown and be close to the water. Fireplace in the room was a nice touch but didn’t use it. Pet friendly was what made us stay here. Lounge area was also super nice.

Nice suite had fire place walk in shower and a big nice tub with a little dinning area and a couch.

We enjoy the walk outside to breakfast in the morning, but the best thing about this hotel is the fireplaces in each room. It’s really nice to cozy up to it.

So our family started a little road trip down Half Moon Bay and along the CA coast We stopped to stay at the Pacific Hotel in Monterey in a Jr suite. Let me tell you, we were amazed how clean, comfortable, and amazing it was. After a long day around town at Fishermans Warf with 3 kids we were exhausted, we hurried back to the room and relaxed while we turned on the fireplace and watched a movie. A lot of space for family of five, loved the two queen beds and two separate showers . I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends

Location was excellent too. It’s close to the cannery row and also has a lot of restaurants and cafes just walking distance. The hotel had an extra charge for the car parking which was not disclosed at the time of booking. It will be good to let customers know beforehand that parking is not free.

This hotel was so adorable. I loved the rooms. Very big. Plenty of space for my family of 4 with 2 teenagers. The fireplace was perfect. The location was amazing. Walking distance to the pier and whale watching so we didn’t have to find parking. Lots of restaurants within walking distance as well. Definitely will be staying here again.

On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast was good.

Check in was easy but a bit difficult to find the room. Room was very out dated and everything inside besides the bathroom was old. The lock to the door never worked either. Breakfast was good. Probably wouldn’t stay here again unless it was the cheapest option again. All other hotels in the area are overpriced

I was told there was no equivalent room available and was offered a “downgrade” to a street-facing room with a manual key, or to wait until the next day for maintenance. The front desk never told me that my current room had supposedly been upgraded, or that the proposed downgrade was actually my originally booked room type. I only learned that later when the hotel used the “upgrade” in its response to Expedia. And this was apparently the upgrade: weak Wi-Fi signal, a TV that did not work, and a room that was still noisy because one wall faced the street. I told the hotel that if they could not provide a functioning room where we could sleep, I was willing to check out and wanted a refund. Expedia communicated this to the hotel. The hotel later described me as someone who “wasn’t accepting anything being offered,” which I found very misleading. I ultimately stayed both nights. Before leaving, I moved the bedding and found an insect on the bed. Room problems happen. What earned this hotel one star was the combination of multiple room issues, poor sleep, dismissive service, no meaningful apology, and the way the hotel later portrayed the complaint.

A great stay. Centrally located, easy parking, and large rooms.

I love the vintage nature of this hotel which is conveniently located with easy access to downtown Monterey. It is starting to show more where however in the hot tub was not appealing at all. Staff was nice but could not accommodate us when we needed two double beds. We ended up swapping out with a couple we were traveling with, but their room was not cleaned properly for us and we could not air it out because the windows have no screens etc. etc. I will start to look for another place to stay in Monterey going forward.
