Hilton Durham near Duke University

Not much. The lobby was pretty. Almost everything. The walk to the elevators from the front door was exceedingly long. Add in carrying a very heavy bag and it was punishing. Our room couldn't have been recently vacuumed as we found large paper clips on the floor. The bathroom door looked as though it had been in a fight and lost. It was splintered and pieces were missing on the bottom. The mirror must have had shelves attached at one time and they were ripped off, leaving slivering missing in the shape of shelves. There was also missing silvering in each of the top corners. All in all, it made a Super 8 look like a luxury chain.

would be nice to have a complimentary breakfast.

Clean I don’t like the fact that you had to pay for parking in the parking lot if I’m already paying for a hotel rate why do I have to pay to park my car? that’s crazy most people drive the hotels or they rent a cars so it’s unfair to have to pay for parking.

Bed was comfortable, pillows were not. Room was comfortable, but the coffee shelving unit was filthy and dusty. The gym was open, but the pool was not. Parking was available, no problem. I requested an extra towel, I have long hair. None were provided. Upon check-in, the woman was disrespectful and condescending. She spoke down to us. We were waiting our turn in line, and she kept her attention on a "gold Member", talking with him, and trying to bump him in line in front of us. He graciously declined her offer. I don't remember her name,... Black American woman in her late 30's, big mole/wart on her nose.

Front desk was no help with recommendations of a nice place to eat. My daughter’s toes were all scratched up due to the floor of the pool. Terrible!

everything the breakfast

the shower control was very difficult to operate....takes a lot strength to turn! Room 202

Great stay! Very convenient.

Hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great full breakfast with many items to choose from. Room was noisy at night/bedtime due to traffic on the interstate

Location

Facility was clean, room was small but sufficient, the bathroom very small. Breakfast buffet was good; service there was good. The check in was awful. My phone had run out of battery and the desk clerk made it difficult to find my reservation. I had paid for two rooms - one for my husband and myself and one for my son. She insisted she couldn't find my son's reservation. I told her I was having a bad day; having left home at 6 a.m. in Colorado and forgot my backpack with computer, charging cords, etc. She said she was having a bad day too, which I thought was rude and uncalled for. After I dug out my husband's computer, turned it on and found the other reservation, she insisted that she didn't find it initially because I didn't give her the right name. My son has the same name as my husband so I used his nickname as the first name and forgot doing so. I assumed the reservations were paired as they were both paid for by me and grouped together. She had his last name but refused to look for other guests with that name. I also think it's unreasonable to charge for parking at this facility, which has a huge lot and is in an area where there is plenty of space.
