Holiday Inn Express & Suites Des Moines Downtown by IHG

Very good

Clean room staff was really good nice and friendly breakfast was really good as well

The building is under construction so the pool and hot tub were unavailable. Sometimes you felt rumbling. Also, I had to change rooms because the heat short circuited the first room. Staff were very nice.

Exterior is currently under refurbishment but it hardly interferes with the stay. Be warned, it’s close to the rail yard and those trains will blast off multiple times per night. Desk staff was best I’ve had at IHG. Super clean and I love the choice of pillows. You get what you pay for and it’s reasonable.

Staff were very friendly. Our room was clean. Hotel was having construction being done outside and pool was closed without advance notice when room was booked. Some areas inside need updating. King bed had a topper on it but bed was still pretty hard.

The Air Conditioner was horrible. It blows for 5 seconds and becomes silent for 5 minutes. No air was blowing.. had a sleepless night..

Need more cleanness and maintenance

Very convenient to Civic Center. Also very clean and pretty rooms. I loved the walk-in shower. Bill the shuttle driver was awesome. He was so friendly and made us feel very safe.

Hot tub and pool were nice. Location was central for downtown activities. Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Exceptional

I don't have time to review every hotel I stay at1 This place was fine, but they were doing construction work, so it was a bit noisy. Nothing terrible though.

This property is under serious inside and outside renovation, with leaking and water inside. It seemed more like a homeless shelter than a hotel. Should be closed and/or completely revamped

Location, location, location. Room was nice a big- even fit our bicycles with room to walk around. Staff very nice. Shower was weak and it looks a little run down needs a little update.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Can room and great breakfast
