Great location for IU family weekend, super clean, able to bring our dog, very spacious rooms, little details—little repairs needed here and there were noted. Waited last minute to book on our way there and paid a much more “reasonable” price for two nights (still crazy cost). Lots of good walkable restaurants in the area. The hotel itself for location and the event going on, was perfect for what it was. Would not otherwise pay what we did for this particular hotel. But it was ok.

The staff was not rude, they just weren't friendly and didn't seem even remotely happy to be there (which I can understand). The decor is sad. In our short hallway there were three different carpets patched together and there were several marks and chips on the walls that were only partially painted in some parts like they were mid-repair...except they looked like they'd been that way for a while. We were there three nights and never had towels replaced (which, obviously, never dried do to the indoor humidity). We felt dirty the entire time we were there and felt congested and sick by the time we left. I would not stay there again.

Not much to say. The Mainstay Inn was old and not well maintained. I sat in a chair in our room and a nail that was sticking out tore my slacks. When I told the clerk his response was “sorry”. I would not recommend this hotel.

This property hasn’t been updated in at least 20 years. I think it was clean but chose to block that out and hope for the best. The bathroom floor is coated in a tacky finish that had us stepping on towels throughout our stay. TVs are old, furniture cheap and worn out, and a bar of soap and two paper cups were the amenities. Person that checked us in was disgruntled and we didn’t see anyone else after that. I will mover stay there again.

This was a very overpriced stay. The carpet was wet for some reason, the door jam came off everytime you opened the main door, the curtains had holes in them, there was a mysterious switch on the wall by the ceiling, everything was just dirty. Definitely not worth the money.

Great location. Workout room was better than expected. Dated facility. No service to the room during stay to exchange towels, empty trash receptacles. Shampoo dispenser empty with no refill available. Very overpriced due to family weekend at IU.

Staff was great. The room smelled awful when we walked in - I thought it was because the A/C had been off for so long. Unfortunately, even after the A/C got the temp back to reasonable, it still stank horribly. I think someone had been smoking in it previously and housekeeping had tried to mask it with some "cleaning solution." It did not work. It smelled of tobacco and nasty chemical instead. The room should have been made unavailable rather than used to alienate customers. Unfortunately, it was a game weekend, so they weren't about to give up any revenue, so we got stuck in a horribly stinking room.

Outdated and smelly room with a strange layout. Front desk employee was unfriendly and unhelpful. Seemed like there were some half-hearted attempts to fix a couple things, but it really needs a full remodel. Would not recommend.
