Holiday Inn Austin -Town Lake by IHG

A note on the elevators is that the one on the pool side tower. Left lift seemed to not be functioning correctly and had us waiting for a long time to get to the lobby as it seemed to not want to go down. I didn’t see any indication of elevator maintenance check which I usually do in most public elevators framed inside the lift.

Very dated. Had to change rooms twice due to exterior doorknob damage on first room and second room connecting door would not close completely. Was told maintenance would come take care of the first room doorknob issue and after several hours waiting was moved to second room and then immediately to third because of connecting door problem. Front desk staff are very helpful and kind...the only reason I'm giving the 3 stars.

Nice property in a great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Inly concern was the pool was closed and did not know until we arrived.

Areas for improvement: - Maintenance issues: laundry was down due to a payment processing issue, ice machine on my floor was out, and the toilet seat appeared to be delaminating - maybe I just never figured it out, but it would be nice to be able to cast NETFLIX to that lovely big television - 5/10 pound weights in exercise room would be nice (smallest I saw was 15 pounds which is a bit heavy for a lot of women like me doing arm exercises) - suggest shades instead of curtains next renovation (Hyatt Place had a two shade system, one for black out and one for sunscreen, operated by pull chains that were so much easier/modern than 3 layers of curtains and allowed for a more expansive view)

The room smelled amazing right when I walked in! I also had a lovely lake view room. What u loved the most about the property was the closeness to the lake and walking areas as well as the very convenient FREE shuttle! I called to be picked up from the airport and I also used it to take me a mile down the road to Scoot Inn for a concert. (Be nice and tip if you use it!)

Room is definitely a little dated , but the room was clean. Everyone we encountered was very nice. The location is awesome plus the free parking can’t be beat. The view of the lake from our room was lovely and hotel is a short walk to Rainey street. The ac was a little weak but fine. I would stay here again if in the area because of the location.

The staff were very friendly during check in. The room was clean and well kept.

The hotel was fine for a night but it's definitely in need of a refresh. Staff was pleasant.

They let me check in early one hour which is something nice of them.

My room over looked the highway and it was extremely loud which is why I would not recommend this stay
