The hotel is beautiful, and the room was absolutely beautiful. My only complaint, I felt the bathrooms were small. There didn’t seem to be enough space to put your personal items.

The setting is gorgeous , but sitting on the veranda having dinner with friends I saw a big RAT running by! I didn't say anything as I didn't want everyone to freak out! Our meal was very good and the server was pleasant. Our room was small, but clean and nice. When we got into the room I noticed that my side of the bed was lower than the other side but didn't think much about it until I got into bed and realized that one half of the mattress was comfy but you kind of rolled down into a huge dip on the other side! The mattress was obviously somehow broken!! Ive stayed in lots of hotels over the years and have never had such a disappointing horrible nights sleep!! I used the extra pillows to kind of block myself from rolling down into the hole! My husband went to the front desk in the morning to tell them the mattress was really bad and needed to be replaced and they said they were sorry and would have maintenance take a look. I'm not sure how housekeeping missed that one because it was pretty obvious that the mattress had to go!

Note- the breakfast buffet is not complementary, and they don’t do a great job of letting you know. Was hit with a $50 bill for two people for a not so special breakfast buffet

Very expensive for a room. Bar was great. Some things we came for were not open which was disappointing.

Great food and service in the bar and restaurant. Surrounding is beautiful! But the place is dated. We contacted the premises a day ahead and asked for an early check-in, by noon. The answer was we could come enjoy all the place had to offer and they’ll do “everything they can” to provide the room early. When we arrived we were told that housekeeping was notified so we would have the room early. However, we were waiting for 4 hours (!!!) to receive the room. Said they sent a message by 15:00 but we didn’t receive any. I’m not sure whether this was due to our nationality, religion or the fact that we came for night, but we saw and overheard that rooms were ready and allocated to other guests early. but not to us. Receptionists weren’t helpful at all, unapologetic in any way, and even rude. The even claimed it’s Booking’s fault we thought we could come early. The said we could use the facilities but since we didn’t have a room card we couldn’t enter the relevant ones (as it was raining the whole time). We never got an apology and no one asked us how we were doing or how was our stay. Very disappointing

Location. View. little animal farm. Several tennis courts. Nice grounds to walk around. Golf course. Entrance not clearly marked, at night all cars arriving all were confused, looking for entrance , we had to stop on the side of the road, go inside to asks if it was the entrance, we had to drag our luggage up the stars. Swimming pool is across the street so one has to get out of the hotel premises, bring all the bags etc walk across the road . Axe throwing instructor is there only once per day for short time, 30 min and he does not know how to do it, he was not able to demonstrate . It is not a big deal it was just funny

Plus midday I saw a cute rat eating crumbs outside on the veranda.. Your facility is amazing, beautiful, especially the Crystal Ballroom! I hope things will improve. Golf we were too busy , but grand. I was somewhat proud of staying at the Grand , when the brakeman commented about The Washington Hotel and the Mountain View Grand on our descent , when he pointed out both beautiful structures! Dr Mike Cichon The maid staff were all very nice, and we tipped them well! I’m. 82 , handicapped, wife is 80, We are golfers, but I’m ?

Arrived at check in time of 4p. The front desk only had one person on and it was busy. Took 1/2 hour to get to thru the line. Lady at the desk said the room needed to be checked for cleaning. We were asked to take a seat and they would text us when our room was ready. An hour later, no text, got back in the long line, got to the desk and she acted like we had never checked in. Definitely need more front desk help!!

We loved our stay. Very peaceful vibe and beautiful place to stay at with beautiful scenery.

Once again, we had a wonderful stay at Mountain View Grand. The staff appeared to take pride in the hotel and their work. When I lost my earring, every staff member we encountered assisted us until it was found. At breakfast the next morning, Kendron, our waiter, being unaware of the outcome of the missing earring, greeted us with an expression of concern followed by a smile when he learned of our success. This was a positive experience!
