Charm Room too small, no daily housekeeping

The Simsbury Inn was a wonderful surprise! The inn would be a lovely special occasion destination. Staff were informative and pleasant. The pool was warm. Breakfast, included with the daily rate, was better than the standard motel menu. I appreciated the self serve La-Cimbali espresso machine. The room and hotel grounds were well kept.

Very nice hotel for a few days stay near where I grew up. The walking trail and flower bridge were great finds.

Such an amazing evening! Great dinner at the hotel restaurant, swim in the pool, jacuzzi relaxation, grounds walk, hammock, gazebo, and amazing free breakfast! Can't wait to return!

This property had such high ratings but I found rooms to be very old, not updated and maintained. The first room we had smelled like smoke. The second room had a sagging spring mattress. In the third room they simply put a mattress topper over a sagging mattress. The trim in the bathroom was rusting. Poor lighting. Fridge in the bathroom. I never ever complained about a room in my life. Just expected more from the property based on price and reviews. I understand that it is old. There’s charming but that doesn’t mean things are never updated. You can update in a way that maintains charm. Perhaps we had an older room because there was a wedding there this weekend. Breakfast, although included, was just ok quality. Just disappointed.

The breakfast is always fresh and delicious. They really pay attention to the details. It’s nice to lounge on the first floor for a quiet breakfast. Be sure to have a meal and drink at Twigs Lounge. Great food and service.

The man at the front desk at departure was rude and arrogant. He had ear buds in his ears and couldn’t be bothered with anything. Ruined an otherwise very nice stay.

Exceptional

Our stay at the Simsbury Inn was delightful. We visited our daughter and her family and went to an outdoor concert. My husband was not feeling well so we spent more time than we expected in the room. It was nice and quiet away from wedding festivities.The breakfast was excellent. We usually stay here when visiting our daughter. Would like it a little less expensive.

I hate to say it but the sister property in Avon can’t even compare to this location. I was so disappointed with the Avon location that I amazed to find out that this was a sister property. The instant I walked in the door, Matt was amazing, the rooms are quaint and clean, and the restaurant along with the staff like Kelly, put an exclamation point on the property. The restaurant is the gem of the entire hotel. When locals fill the restaurant on a Tuesday night it speaks volumes. I will be back in a couple months!

Great little historical hotel with nice amenities, such as sports courts and a breakfast buffet. The room was large and comfortable!

The rooms were clean but the staff was unfriendly.
