Lighthouse Lodge And Cottages

The location: very close to Asilomar and walking distance to Pinos Lighthouse and Monarch Butterflu trees. The staff were helpful and couteous. Yikes- chipping pains, dilapidated balcony we were afraid to walk out on because it didn't look safe, weirdly "burned" looking outlets.... I can go on.

The place is clean and the rooms spacious, but the amenities are ackward: the fire pit for example required driving to, the fireplace didn't work in our room (they couldn't even fix it), the room heater controller was so unusual that it didn't just work like a thermostat but had some strange "Day/Night" setting. There were also large shipping containers onsite, maybe for a remodel, why knows, they took up the parking lot so that the balcony view was basically the roof of the containers. Overall not a good atmosphere.

Checking in, my room's refrigerator temperature knob was broken off. I went to the front desk, and she said she'd send over maintenance. Maintenance never came. I went back & told her I was in hurry, if they could just switch me to a different room. She didn't want to, until someone, I assume was her supervisor, ok'd the move. The woman seemed irritated, and I have NEVER been treated poorly there at all before. The rooms need to be cleaned better. Cobwebs on the rafters on ceiling, mold in the grout on the shower. The refrigerators do not get cold enough, probably time to replace them. Floor was dirty. Balconies were filty. I asked for a late checkout, yet the maid knocked on my door to clean even before regular checkout time occurred. This is my favorite place to stay in Pacific Grove and it was disappointing. I'm hoping they will take care of these issues next time I stay there.

We had crawling insects in our room. Front desk clerk at checkout said Pest Control told them the time of the year contributed and they only come every 15 days (clerk was totally unconcerned). Coffee maker in room broken. Went to breakfast area which was not open yet (15 minutes early) knocked on door employee came tried to explain he shrugged his shoulders, mumbled something and walked away. At checkout told the clerk and his response was housekeeping knew AND said they were out of replacement coffee makers. PITIFUL and BAD responses.

Really dirty

Rooms look to be in need of not just upgrading but in need of basic maintenance. Windows are falling apart, could not open due to wood framing splitting apart. No screens on most windows. One window with screen was torn. Coffee pot was old and missing parts. Outdoors, driveways are in need of restoring. My front end of car scrapped and hit lump on roadway in front of building in property. Trees are uprooted causing uneven driveway conditions. Pricing high considering the condition of buildings. Overall would not stay here again if other hotels were available. And actually this was the case this time as hotels were pretty much booked for this weekend.

We have stayed here before in July, but it was so hot. The room had spider webs in the bathroom and no screen on the bathroom window . We came to our room about 8 P.M. and it was so stuffy and hot. Couldn't open the bathroom window, due to bugs flying in. Had to open the front windows by the parking lot and there was a lot of noise. No fans or air conditioning. Under the bed was dirty.

Staff were nice. However on check in they asked us if we wanted housekeeping and we said yes. They then informed us to call the housekeeping line the next morning. When we called they said they only clean rooms every 4 days. Breakfast was non existent. And parking was limited as they had three large storage containers blocking half the parking lot. Beautiful location and place overall

We have have great experiences here with our dog. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, pillows wonderful and grounds are well maintained and quiet. Staff is personable.

Beautiful country cottage feel. Upscale without breaking the bank

Everything was great! I really appreciated this stay. I had a partial ocean view with the cemetery in the back, but that did not bother me AT ALL—in the morning, everything looked so beautiful. I saw deer, geese, and beautiful birds chirping all morning, all while listening to the loud, gorgeous ocean waves. The location is unbeatable! It’s a stunning 7-minute morning walk down to Asilomar State Beach and the 17-Mile Drive coastline. On top of that, the breakfast buffet was yummy and SO cute. You are nearby everything! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE—I’ll definitely be back!

We stay quite often in pacific grove. Lighthouse cottages and lodge is so quiet and peaceful, with deer walking right under the balconies. You can hear the ocean from the rooms, and the bed was pretty comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location, cute room

This motel felt like a good fit because it offered a lodge/cabin experience, close to the bay for walks and for late evenings, fire pits. When we arrived at the motel about 3 pm were pleased to be able to checkin in a bit early.check in time is 4pm). Our room was near the pool, first level, we learned then that none of the rooms have AC just heat, this is a problem for my husband who prefers coolness to relax and sleep. We were advised to just open windows as the evening temperatures were just about 54 degrees. No scan do when your windows don't allow for opening and the only thing that can open is the sliding door which leads to the parking lot that is not enclosed. We went back to the lobby to ask for a different room but was told they sold out for the evening and couldn't even offer us a different room or upgrade because we used a third party to book. We were offered a fan for our room only. Also the fire pits are down the road at another location that was not supervised. Breakfast was just a few bagels and OJ. But, my husbands birthday went great because we had to make the best of it. Would never stay there again, though.

The bed was hard as a rock and the curtains had black mold all over the bottom of them.
