Clarion Inn North Haven - New Haven North

Badly run hotel. Will not return.

Staff member told me my payment was all set at check in and when I went to check out another staff member stated no payment was made. No breakfast. Parking was terrible. A woman blocked the entrance and I had to leave my car in the front entrance parked over night.

Severely dated and not maintained

Not the c

Large, clean room- comfy beds.

The real issue is that we weren’t told any of this at booking or coming in on the travel day. We had booked for 6 nights and only stayed for one. It did not meet our expectations.

Unfortunately, it was going through some renovation. So that caused some problems

Truly a horrible experience! Hotel was under construction upon arrival, strong smell of natural gas on the first floor. I later left the hotel to get food only to find for alarms going off on the first floor and everyone evacuated; I had no idea. We could not go back into the hotel for several hours while fire/police evaluated the situation, only to be told everything was fine. Everything was not, in fact, fine because no one had hot water in the morning. No coffee or hot food at breakfast. Was promised a 25% refund (which let's be real, I should not have paid at all for this) only to later be charged full price. To top it all off the end of the hall I was staying in was an OPEN CONSTRUCTION SITE and the whole place was full of bugs because of it. DO NOT STAY HERE

No hot water no towels no iron in room

The TV didn’t work, it only said no signal on the screen

Las instalaciones están lindas para pasar un día en el hotel ayuda mucho y tiene cerca varios fast food

Don’t waste your money . Very gross hotel

Clean room……

Tavern was nice with food . Under renovation so not as clean building supplies everywhere

This place was clean, but OLD!! I understand that it's being refurbished currently, but phew, this place needs upgrades just about everywhere. The bar and breakfast area were new and clean, however. Breakfast was mediocre. The bar staff was great and able to handle a big crowd with no problem. The drinks were well-made too. But the rooms are shabby and need desperate upgrades. The furnishings seem to be 90s-00s. The beds and bedding look very new and were comfortable. The bathroom needs to be redone, especially in room 168, the handicapped accessible room. The shower tile needs to be regrouted and there is no place to hold your toiletry bag while you brush your teeth. The AC worked amazing, but we could hear conversations from outside through the window/walls. The carpet throughout the whole place should be deep cleaned or replaced. The TV channels didn't show up until clicking through quite a few channels--so don't give up. Once it was on, it was fine. The ballroom was pretty decent, but the AC was either too cold or too hot. Was very happy to report no bed bugs! Location is great (nearby highway and restaurants), and there was plenty of parking.

Breakfast needs some work. Other than that, this place served its purpose.

The continental breakfast had eggs, links, bacon, assorted cereals, waffles, juices, and hot water for tea. Oddly enough, the coffee station was not situated in the dining room but, rather, near the front desk. When we asked to change the room the next night, we were told that no other rooms were available even though the parking lot was half-empty. The only good thing about the place was the staff who were always welcoming, while dealing with what they had.

At the time we booked, the hotel was undergoing renovation, so it was hard to judge the full quality of the facility. Our room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and towels and linens clean. The hotel could use some updating, which it seems they are doing. Hope they can get it back to full operation soon.

Exceptional

Clean new room, still under construction. We were in back of property near train tracks, woken with train.
