Great gym! Much more equipment than the average hotel gym. Location - tons of restaurants nearby, safe neighborhood, Central Park close by… Could use improvement: Room felt very basic. No coffee, no tea kettle (I honestly can’t say I’ve ever seen a hotel or motel not offer this)! No fridge (though they did bring one up when asked) Elevators are an issue. I didn’t mind so much, but there’s always a wait and many people were grumbling (always!) Good 3.5 / 4 star hotel I would stay here again.

The room was great and the staff friendly and available but the arm chair in the room was really disgusting, had areas of dirt makes, stains and old discolored fabric.

Most of what we saw was very good. Property is a bit dated on the floors but rooms were clean. Elevators were a challenge as they are undergoing upgrades so hopefully they get that sorted. We should have had 3 elevators but seems only 2 were working

It’s good location. Staff is slow in responding

Front desk staff very helpful. Room cleaning left to be desired. It took a long time to receive requested towels and should not have had to ask for basic toiletries for the price point.

Location is great. Walking distance to Central Park and Time Square. The hotel itself it's half bad. Decent gym, restaurant is expensive for what it is but I expected that. Staff was fine, they were cordial and we never felt unwelcome. The room was a problem. We had a handicap room (which we didn't ask for) with a walk in shower. The room was musty when we walked in and we later would find out why. They had a curved shower rod in a walk in shower. The shower curtain extended past the graded lip to keep the water in. Every time you take a shower water goes all over the rest of the bathroom. Dangerous for adults let alone my two young children. The adjustable shower head rod was also very loose and seemed to be about to come off the wall. The curtains are motorized, cool right, no they only ever went halfway closed and made an awful sound when moving. The refrigerator. It didn't have one. It took 2 hours to get one into the room on the night we arrived. We found out the next day that it barely worked. We ended up having to throw away most of the food in it. Awesome. The beds. They sank in the middle and the pillows were old and too soft. We had a double bed room and the one bed was directly in line with the air conditioning. We either had to be freezing all night or turn off the AC and be warm. Other stuff. No microwave. The outlets were old and very loose and 2 just didn't work. The room in general felt dated which isn't a horrible thing if everything works. But dated and not functioning correctly means a no for us when we come back to the city.

Checking in was an hour long nightmare. Initial room assigned was already occupied. 2nd rm was lower level than what I reserved. #rd attempt was finally a charm, but front desk was dismissive through out. Barely an apology. Disappointing.

I will say that the staff were great and were open to helping but you could tell their hands were tied as far as what they could offer to customers. In the end, we received some Hilton points, meal vouchers and most importantly, heartfelt apologies. The frontline staff were great and Hilton needs to do a far better job supporting them and upgrading the facilities of what once was a really great hotel. We will not likely be staying there ever again, but might pop in for the breakfast, as the buffet is always a nice treat. Best of luck and wishing you a great stay wherever you choose if you are reading this! :)
