Arthouse Hotel New York City

This is always our stay in the UWS. Great location and central to transportation, park, and any needs including great restaurants and bars.

Room was lovely with a great view. The bed was incredible, definitely a highlight of the stay. Everything else worked as expected, it was a bit tatty in places, some fixtures or linings were a bit amiss but nothing affecting anything major, just small things that I noticed while looking around. Again a few things were amiss, some fixtures were a bit loose, skirting board linings were needing painting, some sockets were loose but nothing was majorly wrong or broken.

That said - I don't think I'll stay here again. The elevator had key card protection to your floor that worked - sometimes. They gave me early access to my room, but then the bathroom hadn't finished being cleaned. There was hair in the drain and the toilet had not been flushed. When leaving the room, the door looked fully closed when it wasn't. I could have easily left thinking that the door was closed and locked when it wasn't. I have to say - the room was very clean after they cleaned it each day. I just don't think they should have let me have a room yet. It wasn't a bad experience, but it also wasn't great.

Overall, my wife and I had a very pleasant stay at the Arthouse Hotel NYC. We travel frequently, and this was one of the cleanest properties we’ve ever stayed at, especially for NYC. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and elegant, and the bar had a great atmosphere. Our only complaint was that there was no fridge in the room.

The Arthouse was clean and the location was perfect for visiting Central Park. The staff were all very nice and helpful.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us-close to friends, Central Park and museums. The bar is lively with good drinks and appetizers. The neighborhood was residential with many restaurants and shops. The room was quiet even though it was on a busy street with a fire station across from the hotel. Breakfast was pricey but there are many cafes close to the hotel where we had some delicious breakfasts.

No fridge in room, elevators are slow. Neither heat nor AC was working in my room, but the temperature was okay so I didn't say anything.

The housekeeping was mixed. One day we had no washcloths, one day 2, two days 1. The bathroom floor mat was there some days and not on others. The handle on the toilet fell off. The hotel did not meet our expectations.

Modern, clean room. Nice bathroom but a shower stall would have been preferable to a tub shower. Helpful staff Lobby rather desperately needs a makeover. Elevators were in need of updating. Hallways were rather depressing.

Location in upper west manhattan feels very nice and safe. Big rooms for NYC. weak water pressure, the room use some renovation. After staying for four nights in two rooms, we asked for a late check-out for just one of the rooms. Unfortunately, this was not accommodated at all unless we paid an additional fee. Given the length of our stay and the fact that we had booked two rooms, we found this disappointing and not particularly service-oriented.

Loved the fact that this hotel was close to subway and Central Park. Did not like that the rooms were very small, no refrigerators in the rooms problems with the elevator… Extremely slow always breaking down, taking you to the wrong floor, etc. my toilet was broken. They provide you with a clothing steamer, but it does not work because I tried mine and one of my family members. . They do provide a continental breakfast.
