The location is excellent—easy walking distance to the Capitol, restaurants, and coffee shops. The atmosphere is also a strong point, with a stylish bar, vintage video games, trivia night, and nice touches like free gummy bears and a “stash closet” on each floor with extra towels, toothpaste, razors, and other essentials. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Our balcony suite had a fantastic Capitol view and a huge outdoor space, but the room itself did not feel worth the price. It was one large open space with little separation, no coffee maker, and limited in-room amenities. Our biggest complaints were the motion-sensor lights and noise. The lights would come on at night just from getting up to use the bathroom—and sometimes even while we were still in bed. Soundproofing was also poor. Loud vehicles and train horns woke us multiple nights, including around 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. Cleanliness was excellent, but the fitness room was very basic, and we expected more wellness amenities for the price. Special mention to Jamie in valet, who was outstanding—fast, attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with doors or bags. We would not stay again, mainly because of the noise, lighting, and overall cost-to-benefit ratio.

Disappointing
-
Parking convenient, clean room
-
Walls are paper thin, but everything else was fantastic

Unique, modern room, very comfortable. In keeping with other Moxy hotels, the bar is also the check-in. The bar was great, and the breakfast options were tasty and large-portioned. The Moxy is conveniently located, and I was able to walk from The Orpheum Theatre. I thought the valet parking was insanely expensive, though.

The location was perfect . Absolutely loved the vibe of this hotel . The staff was very friendly. The valet parking was extremely convenient. Really loved the free drink chips we received at check in . Nothing . We loved everything about this hotel !

Loved how close it was to the sylvee! Super easy valet parking and just not having to worry about concert parking and such! No fridge or microwave in the room kinda sucked!

There is a microwave in the lobby but that's not terribly convenient. Likewise, there is free coffee in the lobby but that's not the most convenient location. We stayed there for the Ironman race in September 2026. We were on the 6th floor. On Saturday night there was a DJ in the bar playing very loud music which stopped us from sleeping. In fairness you might not have been able to hear the music on the lower floors, and also the music stopped at 10:10pm but this was very much less than optimal and was, at best, very odd given that a large percentage of the guests that night would also have been there for the race. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are spotless, the mattresses are excellent, the TVs in the rooms are very good, as are the bathrooms, there was a very cheap parking lot 100 yards away, the location is superb, the air conditioning is excellent, there are restaurants and bars and grocery stores within walking distance, the Capitol is a 15 minute walk, the bar area was very stylish and a great place to spend a few hours in the evening.

Great location and great hotel! Beds were comfy! The room was small but we were expecting that so not upset in the slightest. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. The common areas were awesome as well.

Checked into this place with my older kids just for a fun weekend to explore Madison. Great choice! Wonderful location, fun lobby, great staff! And I got a couple of free drinks so no complaints here!
