The computers were down upon arrival and they had to check me in manually. On the 2nd night my key wouldn't work due to them not having me in the system

Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Lubbock It was OK my stay at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Lubbock. The bedroom was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made my stay pleasant. I also noticed that the corridors and common areas were very clean and tidy. The hotel appears to be brand new, and in very good condition. One suggestion I would make is to add a little more warmth and character to the lobby area. Some beautiful green plants and fresh flowers would make the space feel more welcoming and cozy. Perhaps some very soft background music could also create a warmer and more relaxing atmosphere for guests arriving at the hotel or spending time in the lobby. Overall, I had an OK experience. The cleanliness and comfort of the room were especially appreciated, and with just a few decorative touches in the lobby, I think the hotel could feel even more inviting and enjoyable. The breakfast was not good and there was nothing particularly special about it. I also found the prices quite high for what was offered. For example, paying US$6.00 for just one piece of toast seemed excessive and did not feel like good value for money. The location was another concern. I did not find the surrounding neighborhood particularly pleasant, and I did not feel very safe or comfortable in the area. Unfortunately, the service at reception was also not good at all. It appeared that some of the staff were newly hired and were still unfamiliar with the hotel, its services, and its procedures. The assistance provided at the front desk did not meet my expectations and the overall service felt somewhat unorganized. I also understood that the previous manager had recently left and that a new manager had been hired. This may explain some of the issues with the service. Hopefully, as the new team becomes more experienced and familiar with the hotel, the quality of the service will improve.

Everything was clean and tidy. Not sure if room cleaning was an everyday thing or not because it didn’t happen for me. But I was mainly there to sleep.

Clean staff nice

No working wifi for my room or for the streaming services offered on their TV. Front desk said they could not do anything about it and that their wifi just sucks.

Comfortable bed, good channels on TV, pool. No complimentary breakfast available and booking says free breakfast included.

After a long day, I was looking forward to taking a shower, getting in bed, and immersing myself in a good movie. Unfortunately, many of the channels did not work, including the movie channels. :(

However, when we checked in their internet and cable were down and when we checked out 2 days later it was still the case. Our mini fridge in the room did not work, and even though I told the front desk at 8am, it still wasn’t fixed/replaced until 5pm after I told them again. Lights only worked on the master switch so there was no way for someone to sleep if the other party was working or reading. Lastly due to the way the handicap shower was, it was nearly impossible to not flood the bathroom floor and use all your towels to dry it up. Aldo they don’t clean rooms every day, which they don’t tell you at checking, so again even thought at 8am I told the front desk we were going to need towels, at 4:30p our room still wasn’t touched.

We got the last double queen room and it turned out to be accessible one. Not having a bathtub wasn’t the issue. I wish we had a longer shower curtain (unless it’s a rule to have short ones for wheelchair accessible bathrooms) or more towels to help catch all the water because it goes EVERYWHERE. We kept slipping on the wet tile and it became hazardous for us in return. I’ll be sure to ask if we’re getting an accessible room next time I book a hotel and check in.
