Greater to stay close to kapa a restaurant a d stores our 3rd time there and now that remadel and have a bar and restaurant super awesome

Our stay was fantastic. We really enjoyed the resort. They have 5 pools, 2 hot tubs, and a water slide. We appreciated they had a volleyball net in the pool. Perfect spot for vacation. Beach is short walk away from the resort. Definitely recommend and would come back.

Partial ocean view was very small. Staff was very nice. There was a lot of construction going on during this time. The spa was not open yet, it was just in a room. The massages were very good though! The beach in front the resort is not for swimming. They had a lot of pools, a slide, and 2 jacuzzis. There was a pool with sand and that area is good for small children. The outdoor Beach bar was closed while we were there. Breakfast at the Ocean House restaurant was good, although dinner left much to be desired. It was $29 a day for parking.

Nice remodel
-
The outside grounds were disappointing. The tiles on the pool deck were falling apart. The sand in the kiddie pool hurt our feet.
-
The hotel is newly renovated. Foods and cocktails at the bar are good. Our room is very clean. The staff at the check out was not so nice. And no receipt was provided after couple months of check out.

My name is Manny and my wife’s name is Lou. The Outrigger Resort and Spa is our favorite place to stay in Hawaii. We were there during Hurricane Lowell. Not our first time staying here. The staff took such great care of us during and after the hurricane. We had no power for two days and the resort provided us with three meals a day. We thought that was awesome because we heard other resorts/hotels did not offer that. We will always stay here when visiting Kauai. We are from California and we met friends there from Arizona. They loved the Outrigger. Shout out to our favorites Angel and Kit who work as porters/ valet . We had the pleasure of meeting them last year. Shout out also to Kaitlin who works at the Ocean restaurant. Just a kind young lady. Can’t wait to stay there again. ❤️🌺

Pleasant resort. Breakfast and dinner in the Roy Yamaguchi restaurant were both good. Furniture in our room was somewhat dated.
-
They were still booking people for the section that they was working on. So if you wanted to sleep in you wouldn't be able to, you would have to listen to the workers make a lot of noise.

room was clean there was a paint patch in the bathroom tub that was peeling, tells u it it really being cleaned. not sure how often then clean but the 6 nights we were there our room cleaned once, the reception desk was ok not as friendly & scars that checks on the guest given it’s a resort esp. during the storm. We were there during the storm & not a lot of activities that the guest could enjoy they had movie going on all day in the conference room, with free treats It would have been nice if there was arts & craft, dancing, learn how to make a lay etc . I’m sure this is not the 1st time they had a storm come in,it would be nice to think ahead for different things to do to entertain the guest & since the guest can’t drive out to get food they should at least give 10-15 % discount during the storm. They have a gorgeous pool but the middle u can’t go thru u have to go around there very tacky line of yellow string attached to an orange pole separating the pools. There is this beautiful beach right at the property that not set up for guest to swim.It would be nice to actually have a way to enjoy & swim in it other than the pools we are in Hawaii. A cost to park, they are already in a property that is tacked in, town is accessible to walk to, nothing is close by, only way to get in & out is to have a car or an uber so to charge the guest for parking is a let down for me It . would be nice to be greeted with a lay or a flower or a drink. plumeria all over the property make use of it

The resort is currently undergoing construction, so depending on where you are, you may hear some loud noise. It didn't really bother me, it was more of a “wow, that's loud” moment. I understand that work needs to be done, and the construction workers were very professional and respectful. They kept to themselves and never made guests feel uncomfortable, even when people were walking around in swimsuits. I did walk down to the beach, but there wasn't really anywhere to lay out, and the waves were too large for swimming during my stay. Part of the pool area was also closed, although I'm not sure why. My only real issue was housekeeping. My room was not serviced after my first night, even though the website states rooms are serviced daily. I didn't report it because I returned exhausted after spending the entire day exploring. I enjoyed my stay and found the staff very friendly. However, I personally spend most of my vacations out exploring, so I didn't use the pools, spa, fitness center, or other resort amenities. For my travel style, I'd probably choose a less expensive hotel next time rather than paying additional fees.

The staff were amazing, so kind and so helpful. The rest of the resort was disappointing. The pools and pool deck were slimy and murky with parts of the pool area closed off with orange cones and rope because of gross slippery slime. The hotel is under construction. The restaurant is subpar and overpriced. Won't be staying again.

The resort was under construction which was not mentioned on their site or when I called to request a handicapped bathroom.

We did enjoy the ukulele and lei making classes and the evening music nightly at the bar. It was all fine but I wish I would have known before booking and wish we didn’t pay what we paid for room, taxes, resort fees and parking. I certainly feel like there were other better options on the island for the price point we paid
