MainStay Suites Joliet I-55

Nothing We arrived at mainstay at 5pm. On 8/27/26. Room clean and neat upon further exam, we realized we did not have an iron, blow dryer or phone. We let front desk know, they said they would let housekeeping know. Next morning, 8:30, housekeeper dropped off a blow dryer, flabbergasted that we had no phone, had no answer about iron and ironing board. Hour later front desk Mgr brought us iron and ironing board. After she left, I tried to use ironing board.. board was broke, would not stand up. We were told phones have been stolen and are on order.

The staff was incredibly kind and accommodated my request for an early check-in. The location is highly convenient and the room was clean. However, there was a faint, smoky odor present, though it wasn't overwhelming.

It was clean staff friendly the only down side was the smoke detector kept beeping and kept us up

The property was okay I was charged for breakfast no breakfast

Nothing really there was barely anything to drink. There wasn't a vending machine. There was no snacks or anything for late nights. There's a huge garbage can in the hallway, collecting water from a busted pipe My room smelled like mold. The ceiling in the bathroom you could tell had water issues. It was not finished. You could still see the drywall tape in mud. The air conditioner unit was dirty. For the price that you charged, it wasn't worth more than 80 bucks. If that where I live the mainstays are way nicer No. Just need some improvements, some TLC. A little bit of money dumped into the place

The upside was that there was a kitchenette in the room so you could make your own meals. The room was exceedingly clean and it was a very comfortable stay. The staff were very kind and it was a very pleasant experience. If you are more independent and do not rely on the basic amenities from the other hotels in the city, then this day was just fine.

I liked how close it was to local food. The whole place had a faint cigarette smell, including the room, and the elevator was very sketchy.
