Candlewood Suites Harrisburg - Hershey by IHG

We only stayed one night which is why we chose this hotel. We got in just after 3pm. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and our overall stay was just fine. The aroma from around the outside of the building was not what we would have expected. Our room was clean except the bathroom floor was slippery and one of the power outlets had burn marks around it. When we got up the next morning we had no running water to shower. We were not able to say anything to the man at the front desk when we left because as we approached the desk to check out he got up and left. This was not a horrible stay but I think next time I will pay the little extra and book somewhere else.

This place did not honor my reservation. They said they had no rooms even though they acknowledged that I had a reservation.

We booked a room that I was told supposedly slept 6. Upon arrival there were no sheets or pillows on the pullout bed or the roll away bed. There were yellow stains on the pull out bed. When we asked the front desk for sheets we were told they didnt have sheet available. What hotel doesn't have the most important thing? We were finally given a sheet u could wear as a cape giant hole in it! When we went to go back down to the lobby the elevator didnt work! You could ride it up but not down my son has disabled knees and we had to walk it down every single time. This is a fire code issue. The pool was an amenity we booked for but weren't told its closed till we were almost there. The floors in the lobby were absolutely disgusting. And an odd smell lingered kinda like cat liter. Im not sure how they have a decent rating. Stay elsewhere!

Do not stay in room 219!!!! The room was damp, musty, and for some reason the carpet was wet. There were bugs in the shower too.

Having the full sized refrigerator,dishwasher and dishwasher range top and coffe machine and utensils plates and bowls was great

Very bad experience,no cleaning from check-in to check-out for 8 days,bad smell in the room, & insects in the carpet;staff were very rude and hostile,lies in the hotel description no swimming pool; we booked because of the swimming pool, no phone working

Clean room and spacious, free convenient parking, and helpful night staff

The hot tub was out of service. It was claimed that the notification was put out in advance but we didn't see any such notification.

One lady at the front desk was friendly. Dirty room. Leaking bathroom ceiling. Room keys did not work. The elevator did not work properly. There were no towels available so we had to wash our own. Rude staff member. Staff member used all of the washers doing personal laundry, leaving none for guests.

Our room had a great kitchenette. We were able to heat up food and not waste anything. The TV did not work properly in our bedroom and the microwave was not plugged in so we had to climb the counter to plug it in. Understood that the pool was closed but it should have been covered up because the water was brown, full of cigarette butts and a dirty diaper. Otherwise, it was a good location and not far to our destination.

Staff was not good except one lady work at night shift

Very good location. 2 of the 3 staff I encountered were friendly. Didn’t give much information on the amenities though. Rusted shower head, dirty towels, rude female staff-would not give me clean towels upon request, told me I’d have to wait until 10 or 11pm for clean towels-no housekeeping for short stays. Patrons above me running rampant all night(til about 3am) No curtains for privacy(window curtain was on the floor in the room upon our arrival). Cupboard didn’t have many options for food, no milk whatsoever for the cereal/oatmeal provided for purchase. This really felt like a hole in the wall hotel that is extremely overpriced.

Room definitely needed some TLC as you can tell animals have been there. Furniture was stained and ripped, scratches all of the cupboards, beds, and walls. Staff were professional and friendly. Hotel to me was too expensive for what I got, but that appears to be a thing in PA. Outlets in the room did not work, could not turn the TV from the beds because the boxes were placed behind the TV(TV was too big for the setup they had). Lots of stomping and banging from the rooms on the above floors majority of the day and night which was VERY disruptive and aggravating. Elevator only worked 1 way. If you were on the first floor you could go up, but any floors after that you had to call someone from the first floor to send it up if you had someone with you because there were no phones in the room to call the front desk.

The Best

Very old and dirty. While in shower, the water does not drain fast, so you’re standing in water past your ankles trying to rush so that you can get out the shower quickly.
