The Essex Resort & Spa

The staff was great! But, I called a few hours after i checked out to report that i left my coat in my room, was told that they will follow up on their housekeeping ! No one called me back! So dissapointed on how they handle the situation!

Really you charged my work credit card a $2.50 destination and marketing assessment fee????? After I check out I see this charge after paying almost $300 for the night. Pathetic. Not about the dollar amount but just a pathetic junk fee. Never be back.

The hotel room was ok and the grounds are beautiful. At this price you would think that breakfast would be included but it is not. The food at the lazy goat was good but the service was terrible. Had to ask twice for milk for our coffee while the coffee was getting cold till the milk made it to our table. The food and the service at the Junction were amazing, no complaints there. Somehow the housekeeping threw away or misplaced some of our belongings from within our room, a tote bag with boot inserts to keep tall boots upright went missing from our room, and while we can understand that things happen, the response we got from the front desk was unacceptable. When we brought the issue to them all we were offered was laundry bags for us to use to put our belongings in. At almost $600 a night that is just not right. Will not be visiting again.

The landscaping, the complimentary fresh coffee and filtered water dispensers available anytime, an extremely pleasant staff, the nice bedding and towels, the quiet but convenient location were all instrumental in making this lodging 5 stars! Would absolutely stay here again the next time we visit the Lake Champlain area.

Pool & hot tub were wonderful

The only negative I would say is that when we entered the main building we noticed a musty smell in the hallways. Not sure if it is older rugs or the woodwork but would have appreciated a fresher cleaner smell.

What a gorgeous charming relaxing in quaint quietly luxurious property! The charming rooms, the expansive green lawns, gardens, flowers, goats - it’s just a perfect New England dream. An onsite spa with steam room and sauna, indoor and outdoor pools, and delicious food. What more does a girl need? I wish I had been able to stay longer! Next time I’m staying longer so I can just relax into the space, swim in the lovely pool, read, lay in the hammock, steam, sauna, swim, eat, nap, repeat! Staff was exceptionally helpful especially James and Moses! They made my stay so much nicer and jumped through hoops to take care of me. Absolutely lovely and so close to Burlington airport! But feels charming and out of the way. Old world charm and service with modern amenities and the most relaxing vibe. Love! ❤️

Beautiful grounds and very helpful Staff.

Such a wonderful place to stay and everyone was friendly kind and very helpful. I enjoyed my one night stay there.

Great experience definitely coming back

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and well taken care of. My daughters loved feeding the goats and swimming in the clean pools. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable!

I was able to get dressed before, relax after…and sleep in!
