Poorly maintained and looks like they never clean.

Breakfast was fine. Bagels were good cereal was fine. Beds were comfortable. Location was very good. Hotel is very dated and worn out. Lampshades had holes in them, baseboards and moldings were dirty and some rotted out. Air conditioner was dirty and moldy on the inside. I dropped something on the floor when, I picked it up it had dust all over it.

The front door was hard to open. The shower curtain rod was not attached to anything, it fell off completely. The price was high for the size of the room. And a $100 charge for incidentals!

This property is a bit tired with not enough parking. We had to park in a nin-parking area because all the actual places were taken by the time we checked in. Still this is such an expensive area to stay it makes sense.

This property has a great location to bar harbor. But the rooms are old, bathroom had mildew and we had to ask for toilet paper on several occasions.

The bed was like a large crater with a big fold right in the middle. I had to sleep in a different bed than my partner because of it.

Staff was great and location was perfect for what we were looking for but the room was damp and moldy smelling, the rugs were damp and moldy smelling and the clean towels were damp feeling. We all had mild respiratory symptoms because of it.

AC did not work well. Main door did not close properly.

Good location. Breakfast was not very good. Not many choices and anything other than cereal or bagels/toast was prepackaged microwave food. We had no hot water for the first night but it was fixed with a call to the office.

The accommodation was perfectly fine for one night. Unfortunately, the neighbors were very noisy, which made it difficult to get a good night’s rest. The room could also do with a thorough deep clean. The breakfast was rather disappointing and fell well short of expectations. Overall, like many accommodations in the area, I found it considerably overpriced for what was actually offered.

Excellent location with an ocean view. Wonderful staff. It’s old but a true value find for the area.

This is a great example of what customer service should NOT be—always following the policy to the letter, rather than looking at the circumstances and doing what’s right for the customer. While I was on a long-awaited vacation, a severe Nor’easter disrupted travel along the East Coast, from North Carolina to Maine. Because of the storm, my plans were unexpectedly affected. Four legs of my trip were necessary to cancel. No exception to their policy of not refunding third-party bookings. They put monetary gain over the safety and well-being of the customer, and for that, I am distraught. I planned this trip for more than a year. When circumstances are outside a customer's control, a little empathy and understanding can make a huge difference. That’s what great customer service means to me: listen, understand, and do what you can to help. Failed on all levels. They ask for this review and this is how I feel. I am NOT from New England and this is NOT normal. When the National Weather said this (Nor'Easter) is likely life threatening along the eastern seaboard from the Carolina's north. I had no plan to cut this vacation short, yet here we are. I would even pay the first night as the "bad" part should not hit till the day after check-in. Great place as long as you do not expect anything.
