I recently stayed for five nights and it was trouble free and quite relaxing. Every morning there was a well stocked breakfast station. Very good coffee, as well. The front staff were always friendly. The room was clean. It’s a little different, having the sink on the outside of the bathroom, in the walk-in area by the door. But if that doesn’t bother you, everything else is just fine. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The clientele seemed to be more upscale than the clientele next door at Extended Stay America. Every time I drove by the Extended Stay America parking lot, there was always one or two people out there smoking or just hanging out sitting on the curb. But there was none of that at the Fairfield Inn. In fact, I even spotted a beaver in a grassy area just off of the parking lot. Apparently beavers have been making their way back to Ann Arbor for the last three years and this one is reclaiming a pond nearby that is out of sight. He saw me and scurried away quickly, but it was cool that I saw one. But I digress. My main takeaway is that I will definitely be coming back to the Fairfield Inn. It’s the kind of place that my picky wife would be fine with and when she’s happy, the trip goes 100% better.

The top floors, 3 and 4 are completely new renovated rooms including new comfy beds. This is a Marriott property they are really putting in some money to bring it to a higher quality than before with shampoo etc in the large walk in showers. Mine had a refrig and microwave. The common areas such as lobby, breakfast room, entrance and elevators need renovations and I’m sure they’re on the list. Awesome full buffet breakfast!

Upon arriving it was apparent the property was under renovation with one floor looking to have the windows covered with garbage bags. Nothing was mentioned about this during booking. Check in was easy and the desk attendant was pleasant. Entering our room, there was a strong smell of mildew. There were brown, wet spots covering the vents to the A/C unit. There were also areas of mold and mildew at the joint between the wall and ceiling. The furniture was had signs of significant wear. The shower also had mildew. I’m happy the hotel recognizes need for renovation. But this room should not have been available to book in the state it was in, especially at the offered price, well over $200. We ended up not staying, and opted for a different hotel nearby.

The room assigned to me was already occupied, and staff were unaware of the situation. My family and I were quite unsettled to discover the room in disarray, clearly indicating that it was currently being inhabited.
-
Everything was fine. However, I learned that I only got Expedia cash and not Marriott points. Also, the drain of the shower was very slow and by the end of the shower I was in two inches of water.

The operaions manager insisted on calling the police to have me removed from the hotel and told not to return because his front desk staff checked me in early but never informed me I was expected to check out after 8 hrs. I was humiliated .

Front desk Team was the only part Everything. I made a reservation for three nights, and at no point during the booking process was I informed that major construction work was taking place in the building. I work night shifts and need to sleep during the day, which is when the problems began. Throughout the day, there was constant noise from drills, hammers, and other construction equipment, making it impossible to get any rest or sleep. As a result, I had to cut my stay short and leave one day early. I emailed Mr. Hamza, the Operations Manager, regarding the situation, but I never received a response. Unfortunately, this only reinforced my impression that guest concerns are not taken seriously and that refund requests are simply ignored. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The lack of communication, the disruption caused by the construction, and the absence of any follow-up or customer service were extremely disappointing. I was unable to sleep, unable to rest, and ended up paying a very high price for a level of service that fell far below expectations. To make matters worse, I was surprised to find a sink installed inside the room rather than in the bathroom, which I found quite unusual and inconvenient. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Quite musty and damp in our room. But only stayed for 1 evening, so we made do. Breakfast was sufficient

Good value for the money.
-
To far to walk to big house but okay stay .
-
Seemed to be nice but there was a lot of construction going on.

Good

Quiet but needs a renovation

This hotel is clean and covers all the basics you expect from a good hotel. However I choose this hotel because I really wanted the pool. When I checked in I discovered it was closed due to a maintenance problem. I could have booked elsewhere had I known that in advance. There has to be some way Expedia can inform us that an amenity is closed or down for service in real time.

The beds were comfortable and the AC worked great! Never had to wait long for the elevator. Room was very small for the price. Shower facet leaked which caused poor water pressure. Had an odor I can't describe.

It is pretty old and run down

Breakfast was not good. We went to the breakfast room at 8:45 am, and found that the eggs were gone, toaster was not working properly. Waffle mix was almost gone. The food preparer was not there to help. The hotel needs to do something quickly to improve the situation,

A very quiet location, located close to the freeway for ease of travel in the area. The carpets in the room had a distinct musty smell.
