Hyatt Place Anchorage Midtown

There was no housekeeping for stay overs and we were not informed of this during check in. We requested that our room be cleaned with the front desk on the second night but that request was never communicated with the housekeeping staff. When we inquired again the next day, the assistant manager was extremely rude and saying that the request needed to be put in the night before, (which we did) but she had no record of it and did not believe us. She then called the night person at home, who said she did not take a request from us, even though we described the conversation we had with her. The assistant manager then asked to see my key, which she said contained a small slip of paper that explained their housekeeping policy, (none of our keys had the slip of paper explaining the housekeeping policy). When I mentioned that we would not be staying here again, she said she was, "Ok with that." We then spoke to the housekeepers on our floor to ask for service and they said to talk to the front desk. The assistant manager then went upstairs to speak with them to ask if they could clean our room. When we came back that evening it was cleaned. I was shocked by the level of rudeness from a manager and made to feel like we were liars for someone dropping the ball. There are better hotel choices in Anchorage.

We asked for room service on the second day but did not get it. On the first day. I accidentally broke a coffee cup and asked for someone to come up to vacuum it up on Tuesday. 2 later the front desk attendant came up with a broom after I complained. No room service & bar/restaurant was closed until our last night! One of the reasons the hotel is to have a bar & restaurant. Breakfast was good.

This hotel was a wonderful surprise! We selected it because of the airport shuttle (call them when you land), but the hotel was so much more. Great rooms, lovely decorating and use of stone, yummy breakfast buffet, comfy lounging spaces where you can take a call or just to plan your day. We needed to get downtown, and they offered their shuttle to drop us off. I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

Very disappointed with the lack of communication around this event. Upon our nighttime arrival in Anchorage, we phoned the hotel to arrange complimentary airport shuttle services. Only then were we informed of the alternate accommodations. Since we had a pre-booked bus tour (pickup at Hyatt) for the next day and originally had breakfast included, we were assured these would be honoured, and a shuttle to the hotel for the next day would be provided for our bus tour pickup. However, the next day, the alternate hotel said no breakfast was included in our booking, and we were unable to contact Hyatt Place to clarify after many attempts. We had to pay for breakfast out of pocket. Thankfully, we were able to get in touch with the bus tour to notify them of the pickup location change.

Don’t plan on using their guest laundry because they only have one washer and one dryer. Bring $2.00 in quarters for each because they aren’t able to give you change. They do not provide a shuttle to the airport. It is walking distance to the train. That being said, you hear the train whistle all night long.

Good location, easy to get an uber to downtown and shuttle to the airport. Hotel looks new from the outside, but is a little tired on the inside, Rooms was clean, but could use a little TLC. No daily cleaning, unless requested by 9 in the morning. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not good the first morning, but much better the second, very basic.

Pulling up was a breath of fresh air. Modern and clean. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of space for 5 of us. The only caveat is the driver who picked us up from train station did not speak to us at all. It was a bit awkward especially since we asked a question however it did not deter us from having a nice time. A recommendation- it would be nice if the shuttle could drop off downtown to avoid having to use so many Ubers. Great stay- would do it again!

The hotel was very nice. The room was spacious and clean The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty. We stayed only one night and would definitely come back.
